That's usually an indication of a bad/incompatible USB drive. Is it less than 16gb and formatted to FAT32? Make sure you are following the directions for the more recent firmware (.UP files versus the older failsafe versions).

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

Sure! Here's both part numbers as it was a bit difficult to decipher from the photos: Ko-ken 3300C.180-14 is the 180mm (~7") socket Ko-ken 3300C.250-14 is the 250mm (~9-3/4") socket

2016~2023 CX-9 41K spark plug change, found NGK plugs in the wild

I realize you posted this awhile ago, but thank you for this. Picked up both sockets for around $70. I have zero issues buying quality, recommended tools! The cost was easily justified as I’m going my wife’s CX-9 and my CX-5 at the same time. These will definitely get use!

    Which NGK Spark Plug?

I saw that as well, but I have seen plenty of instances where the 2.5L used the DILKAR7M8 plugs without issue. Hence, my dilemma and confusion :)

    Which NGK Spark Plug?

OK, just need some clarifications as I seemed to have confused myself :) I need to change both my wife's plugs (2018 CX-9 2.5L) and mine (2019 CX-5 2.5T). Are these both the NGK 90288 (DILKAR7M8) plugs or does our CX-9 need the 94124 (ILKAR711) ones? I am seeing posts all over the place and...

My understanding is that you can. Keep in mind you will lose Japanese radio stations if you choose to go that route (due to frequency differences).

A new "high" for our dealership. They MUST be joking!

So we have been having our services performed for years (and I mean over 12!) at our dealership (Chapman in south NJ). Wife took her CX-9 in for 90K service (which they quoted over $400 for! We declined everything but the full synthetic oil change and rear differential fluid change (which was...

Mazda Connect Firmware 74.00.230A (now .324A)

and please confirm you upgraded FW before installing the hardware. I do see the kit you purchased and seems to have good reviews, so maybe the kit is OK.

Mazda Connect Firmware 74.00.230A (now .324A)

That’s my only concern. If there are any internal issues with the kit, it makes it harder to troubleshoot. Certainly the OEM kits are recommended for this reasons. Any chance you took photos during install? Can you provide instructions you followed? I installed the OEM kit on my wife’s CX-9...
