Most of the dark color you are seeing isn't dirt, it's the charcoal filter material. But those came off an '18 with 15,000 miles. I do live in a high desert area though, so lot's of sand here.

It wasnt different, the new assembly didnt come with the harness at all, so I had to take it off the old one and place it on the new one.

Welp, got it done. The beam height was a bit off but otherwise, things went ok. That was easily adjusted. Doesn't seem any other adjustments/setup was required.

Has anyone replaced the headlight assembly on their own? My lights are adaptive, and I'm going to replace the defective one this weekend. Curious if there's anything to look out for or some random setup/maintenance mode that needs to be set in order to replace the assembly?

I have an iPhoneX and mine does this on occasion, but only in areas where the cell signal is weak. If the signal is strong, then the GPS is very accurate. I went to the mountains the other day, and this happened a lot.

For US-spec models, the 2016 to current CX-5, and the 2016 to current CX-9 infotainment systems are identical except, cosmetically the touchscreen size and location varies a bit by model/year. The CMU, the software, the hubs, etc are all the same.
