not the best option. try talking on the phone and needing directions at the same time. doesn't work well. cell service is spotty, too, especially on longer distance drives. it's still a better option than the tom-tom.

how about just getting a garmin? i have one that has excellent voice recognition, a big screen and lifetime maps/traffic. cost about $125.

list it on craigslist for 24K and see what happens. if you get 23K, consider yourself lucky. not sure what state you live in, but some states do not make you pay sales tax on the value of the tradein - that may be worth $$$. do your math.

you're going to be underwater after only a year. google 'mazda cx5 cost of ownership' and you will see the 1st year depreciation. i did this when comparing new 2014 vs new 2015 GT, AWD and 1st year depreciation was 5000 - 7000 depending on the site.

look at truecar. you will get guaranteed pricing. i can get a 2015 GT AWD for $29,236. i don't qualify for any rebates and that includeds everything except tax and license. prices vary by region, but the service is free. 1000 off is not nearly enough for what is essentially a one-year old car...

being forced to buy the tech package to get the advanced keyless entry feature was the main reason i did not buy a 2014.

that's good news. that was the only thing i wanted from the tech package. or maybe not - is the backup camera standard on the GT?

when went to pick up my 2014, it had 330 miles on it. i was ticked. fortunately, i did not put any money down so i simply walked out the door. the experience soured me so much that i have not bought a new car.

yeah, and they wanted 150 to install it. plus, you've already paid for the mirror in the car. my point was i can get this and keyless entry standard on a basic kia or hundai. have to buy an expensive bundle if i want it on the cx5.

the ones available in the secondary market, in my area at least, are mainly the smaller engine ones that got a lot of bad reviews for being underpowered. this brings the average price down.

apparently, canada gets that. the US does not.

did you get the $450 aftermarket option? when i was seriously looking, the aftermarket or the tech package was the only way to get this. perhaps the 2014.5?
