You can clear DTCs with an OBD scan tool. I wouldn’t worry about all this unless you have error codes 😎

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code Basically it is an error code that the car reports back to indicate to you what the problem is. The instructions you quoted are saying “don’t do this or your car will set a DTC and report an error, which will require you to clear the code”.

I sent you the instructions. I am also attaching them to this post for other members who might need them.

Unfortunately you cannot change regions with the new units yourself. I say that because there are some places online (I haven’t looked into it) that can change the regions for you for a fee. The older (6th) gen could be done with a simple FW change.

I've been having zero issues with iOS 18. Both my iPhone 13 and now 16 have worked without issues. Just offering a positive data point.

I expect it's a bypass setting. It's still looking for the key fob. I have not seen that happen on my CX-5 nor my wife's 2018 CX-9.

I would also make sure you are on bypass FW version 90.[05] and remote starter FW version 1.[26] or higher.

Yes. If you install ADP 4A firmware on your Japanese import it will work fine. It will also adjust your radio frequencies to AU/NZ bands.

Thanks to @Fitzgibbon, I can now provide FW for 7th generation systems (2021-current) as well (ONLY North America for now, until I can spend more time with this).
