Itching to customize my 2013 Mazda5

I think I have those same speakers! Older models but they still sound great. You should get the wiring adapters of you want to pay for them, much easier than cutting/soldering/heatshrink for all four speakers. The harness adapter for the head unit too.

Itching to customize my 2013 Mazda5

I forgot, with an '07 most of this is a long time ago... Window tint makes for a cool look. All weather mats too. Together made things a little quieter too.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

As long as you notice and enjoy it! I was surprised how much difference all-weather floor mats made to the road noise. Definitly got me interested in going further with sound deadening until I fell down that rabbit hole - reading up, watching youtubers, looking into products... and eventually...

    Engine Splash Shield Removal Question

Thankfs for sharing. Always good to have another parts source. Quirk looks a lot like CARiD. It's not uncommon to see different storefronts with same webpages and backend database and stock... but the prices can be different 🤷‍♂️

    Recommendations for new brake pads?

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! What an great community! FWIW, I went with the Akebono ceramics, which are supposedly the OE anyways. Night and day difference with the old PoweStop. Now there's more control over breaking - smooth slowing down and bitey for sudden stops. Silent and no...

Itching to customize my 2013 Mazda5

No reason you can't shop their website, use their fit guide, and then order that stuff local. I did that. Crurchfields Master guides are just a nice to have for anyone that's never done a radio/speaker upgrade before. Update the speakers alone is the biggest improvement for the lowest cost, the...

Is this typical Mazda automatic behaviour?

@DavidR8 NP, glad that's all it was!

Is this typical Mazda automatic behaviour?

Sounds like worth cleaning the MAF (mass airflow sensor). You can do it easy, with a screwdriver and a spray can of MAF cleaner. YouTube has clips for how-to.

    AC Cutting Out

If it's high milage the AC belt would be my guess before the AC pressure switch. But the repeatability feels contradictory to just those parts as unreliable or bad, so maybe it's a hold out in the computer after too many fails. Also the temp sensor down by the cabin filter, if that's...

    Engine Splash Shield Removal Question

I see @negusm beat me to it, the AC compressor and belt is down low. The splash shield also line up to protect the oil filter carrier, help with aerodynamics and a little bit with road noise.

Fuel System De-Carbonation by Firestone worth it?

Forget anything Firestone has said or is selling. Just use a Royal Purple or Techron fuel additive from your local auto store.

    Mazda5 Speaker upgrade time

Front speakers are easy as any car, get that inner liner off (screws on the inner handle and bottom of the inner pocket) and the rest is push pins and lift up and off... in a nutshell. Those lower speaker mounts are classic 5x7 with a hard plastic bracket that protects from window water above...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Ditto. Also the designers are gonna have allowed for the full range of air mass required across the full RPM range, and the onboard computer controls the air precisely. Changing the filter to one with less filtering/lower resistance isn't going to net more air into the chambers.. but it will be...

Specific torque specs for spark plugs (Mazda5)?

My service manual (for '07) has the plug tightening torque listed as... 10-14 N.m { 1.1-1.4 kgf.m, 8-10 ft.lb } Still getting 20 ish city and 34+ highway. OE plugs, 90k miles, use royal purple for cleaner, and always full synthetic oil for the regular changes IME, more mileage is about...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Well it had 15 years and 85k on it and never cleaned before, and we have nasty pollen levels every year. It was enough build up it was reading 13°F off and would even have the car stall at min rpm in 4th. It'd always had fresh OE filters. The throttle body was relatively a lot cleaner.. so the...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

That's a lot of clutch work! MAF sensor is always worth a clean anytime you're in that neck o' the woods. Does a lot for rough idling. I've even had my 5 conk out driving down the road at low rpm in top gear from gunked up MAF. Now I'm a little fanatic about them.
