    2019 1YR Review

Yep. I was going to say...you are comparing 2019 CX9 model vs 2017 RX. Things change quickly. My 2017 CX-9 Signature also does not have Apple CarPlay (i was able to add it on my own), no heated rear seats, no ventilated front seats, no front parking sensors and quite frankly, after 36k miles...

2016+ Maintenance Mode for Rear Brake Pad Change

I just changed the rear pads on my '17 CX-9 Signature. Very easy. It took me about an hour to do both sides. I used non-OEM brake pads. The original pads lasted a bit over 35k miles only. Disappointing. I followed this procedure that i found on a Mazda 6 forum. It worked great. I pushed the...

New CX-9 Touring 2019 - Interior noises - Please Help

Not sure if you have the same issue...by my 2017 had a hard to diagnose noise in the same area over bumps, and after 3 visits to the dealer, they discovered that it has some loose bolts/nuts around the wiper blade motor assembly. They had to remove the plastic cowl cover in order to see all the...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

sm1ke, Do you recall what brand of tint you put on your car? Is it perfectly clear or it has some % of tint to it? Any issues with night time driving/glare? Thanks!

    i-ACTIVE AWD not so Active

I am not a super expert on how the Mazda AWD system works, but i can tell that the "fix" for it would be to somehow send more power to the rear axle, quicker. If the hardware can handle it (i have some real doubts there), the rest is software calibration.

    Differential fluid change?

My 2017 CX-9 has a bit over 30k miles now. I stopped by the dealer last week and asked if they offer an Auto transmission fluid service (drain/refill) and he said, "no, it's a lifetime fluid". There is not such thing as "lifetime AT fluid" but if he says so, whatever. I will try to replace...

    i-ACTIVE AWD not so Active

sm1ke, i don't disagree with you. I am not comparing apples to apples, correct. Just like i said in my post earlier, i know that "everyone else in this class does it too". .... however, personally, this does not make me feel any happier with the AWD in the CX-9, especially when i compare it to...

    i-ACTIVE AWD not so Active

I have to agree with the OP, 100%. I like my CX-9 Signature and it gets the job done well for our family of 5. The handling is pretty nice for an SUV, gas mileage is fine, and the car looks good -in and out. We got a great deal on it ($10k under invoice), so it is a lot of car for the money...

Why did you purchase a CX-9?

Yep. The 2.0T in the Q7 is just too small in my opinion. I would not purchase this combo. Not enough power for a heavy SUV like the Q7. I wish Audi kept the 3.0 TDI (diesel). Such an amazing engine for this platform, and in general.

Why did you purchase a CX-9?

Just curious.... what engine did you have in the Q7? For 20k price difference, i expect it was the 3.0T engine. If that's the case, the Audi also has a much more superior engine. Their V6 supercharged engine has tons more power, better towing capacity, better acceleration, more torque, it can...

    2020 Highlander vs 2nd generation CX-9

What do you mean "no exhaust system"?? If you are referring to the "dual exhaust" on the CX-9 vs the single exhaust on the Toyota... this so called "dual exhaust" is more of a visual gimmick on these cars than anything else. The 2 OUTLETs on the CX-9 are just that - two pipes coming out of a...

    So I compared a fully-loaded $65k QX60 to the $53k CX-9 Signature..

Great review and lots of attention to the details. Before I bought my CX-9, about 2-3 yrs ago, my wife decided that she wants a new car and we looked at a number of different options. One of them was the Infiniti QX60. We test drove two different variations - the fully loaded one (close to $60k)...

    A not-so-positive review of the 2019 CX-9 Signature

I fully agree with the above ...and I am an overall pretty happy '17 CX-9 Signature owner. I picked my CX-9 because i got a GREAT deal on it. It came down to having a new, loaded, non-luxury car for the price of a 3 yr old "certified" real luxury car. Do i have any regrets? Not really...

4WD System High Load = Tomfoolery Detected...Thoughts on the CX-9 in snow

Sadly... the 20" Falkens on mine, with 10-15k miles on them were useless in the snow. So bad that i was really questioning if i want to keep the CX-9 for winter driving. I was ready to trade-in the car after 1 yr of ownership. Well... this year i bought an extra set of used 18" Hyundai Genesis...

Confused about IIHS Headlight rating for CX-9

2017 CX-9 Signature here .... i really like my headlights. No issues with brightness, intensity, distance, tracking the road, etc. Definitely one of the better stock headlights i've had on a car.

    key fob battery life

I just replaced my keyfob battery. My car is a 2017 Signature. Car was first registered in early 2017. It was a bit surprising that the battery went out so quickly. I put a higher capacity battery (CR 2032) so hopefully this one will last longer.

Consumer Reports Headlights rating 2/5 for 2016+ CX-9

Never had an issue with the headlights on my '17 CX-9 Signature. Range is good, brightness is good and they follow curves well too. The fog lights are a joke though.

    Diagnal Re-Test on Car-Question! - 2018 CX-9

OK, Great!! So the big question now is....what happens to all of us 2016/2017 model owners? Can the software for the AWD "brain" be re-flashed for us (by dealers) so our cars become more capable or we're stuck with the old crappy AWD system that miserably failed the initial diagonal tests?

CQ: CX-9 diagonal and offroad test --- Fail!

I agree 200% with the above. It is VERY important to know the real capabilities of your car, AWD or not. Reading marketing BS from car manufactures and believing their claims is simply naive. We all learn that at some point. I learned it with my CX-9's mighty "capable" AWD system. The way Mazda...
