CX-5 Trailer brake controller installation help

I've always found its' good to know something ahead of time because when I don't I usually do something stupid that I probably found late "just don't do this!" Its not to hard to spice the brake wire, but you'd to seal it up. The trailer light kit with the Curt adds an inbetween adapter you...

2016 CX-5 1st HUGE issue, stuck on highway - Need Help

These strange events are why I'm reluctant to work on plugs/coils/sensors, etc because I have learned when it was running basically ok and then I try to improve it, it is almost something I did wrong, or what I did offended something more delicate than I expected. These days it if has a code I...

    Strange Noise

I think those climate controls that control the heat/cold air mix might be pneumatic. Could it be a leak?

I've heard of that happening but I have heard of a lot of problems with sunroof drainage in general.

    Ventilated seat care question

I always thought ceramic meant like pottery, plates, etc. I guess when I was a kid the big thing was carnuba wax or something. :(

    CX-5 Safety Suggestions

I agree about the saftey issue but I think the manufacturer should take it unto themselves to make sure the DRL are easy to use. The auto function should be designed in a way to avoid this driving with only DRL , without any tailights, whatever issues caused by the confusion between dash lights...

    Replace Faulty Valve Stem Seals?

I understand that Mobil 1 can be considered a fairly stout oil, maybe that helps reduce consumption. Does it smoke when you restart the engine after it has been warmed up?

    USB Music Folders

I have noticed this type of behavior with mp3 media, but I don't remember the exact details, I think it might have been a CD burned w/mp3s, and it didn't want to get all the way into the folder structure, mostly the 'top layer'. I'm a little disappointed the sirius too, but it works great out...

Class action settlement for defective exhaust valve seals/oil burning 2021 CX-5 CX-9 2.5T etc

Yeah that could be just natural sealing somehow, of course I really have no idea. Have you tried a "high mileage' oil, I believe they add seal conditioners and that might help. Is is under warranty?

2025 CX-5 Carbon Turbo Seats Causing Hip and Back Pain

I think Edmaz hired a shop to re-do his with memory foam, especially the side bolsters. It is true that seating can affect the geometry of peoples bones, etc and that can cause hip pain. I've read that flat bench seating is better for this aspect, not bucket seats. So they should have a flat...

    CX-5 Turbo vs Non-Turbo

One thing I've found in situations like this where you really cant do anything is to just wait it out for an extra 10 or 20 minutes and enjoy the slow boring ride. It can actually be a bit relaxing if you want because it's so easy to drive that slow. Grab something out of the cooler, bring up...

Crazy Electrical and Start Up Issues plus Warning Lights

Yep, I think a lot of cars these days have accessories or whatever that tend to use juice and can slowly run a battery down. Rule of thumb it takes three times as long to recharge a battery as it took to discharge it, which is why short drives never really get the battery fully charged...

Thinking of running 18 inch wheels

I 've got the 17 wheels and I like them ok. I always figure the OEM wheels should work well partly just because they were designed for it. Oh, you might want to look at the threads on seat cushions. CX 5s seem to have firmer foam than some people prefer. Memory foam's what I use. It's a...
