    Almost 300k 2016 CX-5 Grand Touring

Wow, I thought I put on a lot of miles. My 2016 has 100K miles. I'm happy to report zero issues. Only thing I've done was change: -oil every 5K - tranny fluid at 50 and 75K -brakes at 78K (the front still had 30% plus pad left) -tires

    Anyone have Continental Truecontact??

I've got Tru Contacts on my CX-5. They've been on the car now for a little over 40,0000 miles. I think they have around 6/32" of tread left. So far I've been very happy with them. Smooth ride, quiet and handle well. Mine are wearing evenly too. I do rotate them every 7,500 to 10,000 so I'm sure...

How long did your brake pads last?

79,000. The rears had made 10% life left max. The fronts probably at least 30%. I drive 75% highway so that helps too.

    Oil, Carbon build up palooza!

BMW owners with direct injection engines have been walnut blasting their valves for a few years now to clean off the deposits. I was hoping Mazda solved that issue. May not after seeing these pictures.

    Change automatic transmission fluid?

I did a drain and fill at both 50 and 75K miles. When I hit a 100K I'll probably drop the pan and put in a new filter too. Good find!

Tire Rotation Poll How do you rotate your tires?

Every other oil change - 10K miles.

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

2016 GT with 74K miles. No issues at all. I did just replace the front struts and rear shocks. The fronts actually had a little life left in them but the rear shocks were gone.

    Brake length

When I checked my 2016 at 60,000 miles I had better than 50% pad wear left all the way around. I do a lot of highway driving though. Plan to check them next week again. I'm getting close to 75,000 miles.

CX-5 Battery and lights dimming/flickering - need advice

Go to Autozone or other parts store and have them do a load test on the battery. That will tell you for sure if that's it. They will install the battery for free and it will cost less than the dealer too.

    What's your odometer reading?

2016 with 71,000 miles. At 75,000 I'm going to change out the struts, shocks, spark plugs, cabin and air filters. Brake pads are still over 50% so at this rate they should go to at least 90K miles.

    Daytime running lights dim/flickering

My passenger side DRL started dimming and flickering. It's a 2016. Bad thing is I just turned 62K miles. I'll look at the headlight this weekend. Bad thing is I'm now out of warranty.

Safe to replace one leaky tire at 3k?

I would make sure it is the same tire brand and type too. Different brands and different types will drive differently.

    Fuel Economy

With my 2016 GT I'm at 30.0 mpg (according to my monitor). However, 75% of my driving is highway. I noticed if I drive over 65 mph or it is very windy the mileage will go down. I've been tracking it for about 8,000 miles now. I keep my tires inflated to 36 psi cold too.

    Testament to Mazda safety

I can also attest from personal experience our 2014 Mazda CX-5 (RIP) did it's job. A car made an illegal left hand turn in front of us. I only had time to brake for about 15 feet before we collided. We hit at about 45 mph. The car was totaled with the engine being pushed into the front firewall...

    Oil dilution

Cold weather and short drive cycles can contribute.

Cargo Tray for 2014 Grand Touring

Go with the oem cargo tray. Fits great and is a quality product. I have had it on my 2014 and now 2016 CX-5's.
