Updating Speed / Red Light cam question

They seem to have removed the speed camera options on their website, both viewing and editing. https://forum.mapcreator.here.com/forums/topic/adding-speed-cameras/

Updating Speed / Red Light cam question

Howdy all. Does anyone know how to send a message to Mazda regarding new speed / red light cams? They stuck a new one near my house more than a year ago but it doesn't show up in the maps yet. I seem to remember my '15 with the TomTom system had a way to do that, then they would squirt out...

    2016.5 CX-5 Speaker Replacement/Upgrade

That's always been the Bose philosophy, use cheap drivers and EQ the crap out of them. If you've ever listened to a pair of the 901's without the active EQ box it's amazing how poor they were, and I assume still are. I spent many years in the home hi-fi biz and the old saying was "No highs no...

    2016.5 CX-5 Speaker Replacement/Upgrade

Interesting. I'm with you, I'd replace both, OEM revised or aftermarket. If one has failed the other one is likely on its way out anyway since it's an inherent design problem. And honestly I'd stick with OEM anyway, at least it's designed to be installed in a space with about the same internal...

    2016.5 CX-5 Speaker Replacement/Upgrade

I'd also suggest finding an exact replacement. Bose systems are equalized for the specific car, and an aftermarket speaker will probably sound quite different than the stock unit. You could easily end up with one speaker that sounds so different it will drive you nuts...

    Folding Mirrors

I haven't had my 2020 long enough to have an opinion on reliability, but I'll for sure leave them on the automatic fold in option. I've found the Mazda walk away lock function on both my 2017 and the new 2020 CX-5 to be flakey, and I like being able to glance back at the car and see if it locked...

    HUD bezel reflecting on windshield

I've never been bothered by the reflection, but polarized sunglasses definitely mess with the HUD. There's really no cure due to the way polarizing works. You can try an experiment by looking at your computer monitor or LCD TV through your sunglasses and rotating them. When you do that you'll...

First Time Mazda Owner Question For Long Time Owners

I lease mine and roll 'em every three years so can't say anything to long term reliability, but my four Mazdas - a Mazda5 and three CX-5 GT's - have never had a problem outside of a factory recall on a power steering pump issue. The last CX-5 doesn't really count since I just got it though...

What did you pay for your CX-5?

Here's a bit of info for anyone looking to lease anything from Mazda. Up until recently Mazda used Chase to handle all their leasing contracts. They're now using Toyota's financing arm for this purpose. Here's the catch. With Chase you had an automatic $1000 insurance coverage to take care of...

    Guidance volume setting factory NAV

I think I might have to drop by the dealer and try to get a definitive answer. They should have a card to match any GT in stock if it comes with the car (Mazda's site does show that as part of the 2019 GT) , or be able to show it as an option if it's a separate part of the deal. Or maybe it's...

    Guidance volume setting factory NAV

Interesting. The guy I talked to said it was standard in a GT, but I see no mention of any nav system on the 2020's, just Apple and Android connectivity. So now I'm confused...

    Guidance volume setting factory NAV

What you're describing has irked me in both my 2015 and 2017 CX-5. In every other car's GPS system I've used the volume of the GPS voice is relative to the volume of the audio system, such that the GPS volume was always a relative loudness to the audio system's level. The way it's fixed in the...

Rattle around door with high bass

I had the same issue in my 2017 CX-5. I got pissed one day and downloaded a tone generator app (literally "Tone Generator" on Android) to my phone so I could find the frequency that was causing the buzz then localize it. It turned out to be the plastic cup behind the inside door lever on the...

    2017~2025 Touch up question

Their basic chip touch up kit seems like just what I'm looking for, enough to help hide it somewhat without breaking the bank. I'll let the dealer sweat the perfect fix (like they'll actually do it) when I hand the car back in November 2020. In the meantime this should do fine. :) Thanks a lot!!

    2017~2025 Touch up question

Thanks for all the info! I've wondered if I might just make it more visible, but from looking at the touch up paint page and the video it seems like it might be feasible to spend a little time and take a crack at it. That being said I have read the Mazda touch up paint tends to run on the...

    2017~2025 Touch up question

So I walked up to my car the other day only to notice some #&%## moron had seemed to run a shopping cart or something high into the front of my car. As you can see from the attached pic it didn't get through the base layer, but did knock a fair sized chip out of the paint and and added a few...

Can you use traffic sign recognition without HUD?

It doesn't show up anywhere on my dash, just the HUD. That being said I love the HUD, and it annoys me when I have on polarized sunglasses and can't see it from every angle. It's particularly nice when you want to have audio info on the main screen but still want turn by turn navigation visible.

    2018 CX-5 T Front splash guard installation?

It's a really good idea to wait on the 3M Ahesive Promoter, that stuff is pretty amazing. I have no way to measure it but it seems to increase the holding power of mounting tape substantially. I ordered the 3 little packs from Amazon when I did my flaps and have found it useful on another...

    2018 CX-5 T Front splash guard installation?

Here's part of a post I put up when I installed the flaps on my 2017, I assume they're unchanged for 2018. The jack nuts are easy to deal with if you do the following. When you read the instructions the first thing you'll probably wonder about is the need for a tool called a jack nut tool. You...
