Check battery first before reading codes.

    2017 CX-5 vs 2024?

I have a '17 and a '22 (turbo). Honestly, I cannot tell a difference in tranquility while they are on the same commute routes. Maybe there had been improvements over the recent models, but I cannot tell. My '17 CX5 is significantly quieter than my '16 Mazda6. Anyone in my family can tell that...

2019 CX-5 Need tips on taking over maintenance after 50K miles

Personal opinion: If you plan to keep it for a while.. 1. ATF drain-n-refill 2. Brake fluid change

What is a good three season tire?

I usually get on tirerack.com to do research before buying. Read the owner's reviews (ignore one with few total miles... could be fake). Been doing that for decades, even if I don't buy from tirerack.com every time.

    Interesting read on the CX-5

Great writeup. He left out the belt tensioner of some model years. My '16 and '17 had this issue.

I am not surprised, wlong01. Statistics at work. One of my co-workers had transmission failure w/ his Camry.

    Could this be

I refuse to go to Oakland. Sad to say that. SF is getting there... last time I went there, a homeless guy tried to hit me for no reason. I could easily defend myself but I would be in jail and he would be free zooming on the streets. No reason fighting a homeless guy. Back to the topic. If...

2024 CX-5 Front Parking Sensor problem

Did you have the front parking sensors installed or the rear? For front, if you don't have the signature model, I doubt you will see the indication lines and all the graphics. (I don't have a Signature. So I could be wrong on this.) This guy shows the Signature model...

New here and looking at the CX-5

To OP, If you want a reliable vehicle, chances are a Toyota would be more reliable than a Mazda. I am not biased. I own 4 Mazdas now. Reliability of Mazda is not bad. For all my four, I got, on average, 1 problem per 7 yrs per vehicle. Small issue (several hundreds of dollars to fix, not...

    2013 CX-5 Won't Start...What could be wrong?

I still think your battery is bad. "put it on a charger, it shows full charge".... you probably saw the voltage from the charger. Disconnect the battery and use the multimeter ($10 from Walmart) to measure the voltage. It should read 12.6v (no less than 12.3v). (2.1v * 6 = 12.6 v) There are 6...

    Hitch Installation questions (2025 CX-90)

Factories do not install accessories. Those that are on order list shall be installed at the port of entry... e.g. LA port on west coast. Dealers can, of course, install some if they want to or you ask them to.

Lost Locking Wheel Nut Key...Any ideas?

What they do is simple: They use a one mm smaller socket and force it onto the lock nut with a hammer. The lock nut will be damaged for sure.

Report after 2300 miles on pure gas (2023 CX-5 Turbo)

I agree to what N7turbo said. I switched to 91 for three tanks now. I have been using 87 for over 2 yrs with my '22 Turbo since new. I can only feel some difference during acceleration. Not so much on highway cruising.

Am I the only one happy with the OEM Toyo A36 Tires?

I agree with stickerbush. The compound of the treads is different at the top and base. The base is harder, which makes sense. When people switch to new tires, they always feel new tires are much better. Quieter, stickier to the road... all the goodies. The simple fact is: your tires were old...

    TPMS Question (2024 CX-5 Signature)

In order to auto-detect sensor-vs-corner, multiple detectors are needed, one at each corner (near the tire). This way, no need to relearn IDs (each sensor has an unique ID) after tire rotation. In our current CX5, the ECU sees four IDs. It has no idea which one is at which corner. Need to wait...
