    help with wheels

Those first mazda wheels are 480 per wheel, and I love them too :) Those kazeras seem o.k, but they're heavier and more expensive than the other 17" wheels I would go with (the used 17" miata wheels, the used kosei k1 racing wheels and the used enkei rpf1 wheels). If you don't want used, I...

Everybody knows that a "fill-in-the-blank" intake is the best

    It's not a speed3, but still... corksport.

This guy needs to be fired.

yeah, this guy is still better than George Will and Charles Krauthammer put together. I hate it when I stumble into one of their columns because it has a catchy title, but at least I realize my mistake before the end of the first paragraph (i.e. before the brain decay sets in).

    help with wheels

When I was looking a few weeks ago, no one had any of the K1 Racing (older 5 spoke version) in stock anymore, and the newer ones are expensive when new (not as much as the rpf1s though). I think that unless you want miata 17s (miata.net is a good place to look) or RX8 wheels (this site or...

Installed 16" MX-5 Miata wheels, dropped 34 pounds

Will do, although I'm having trouble keeping my foot out of it thanks to my corksport SRI. :) I'd like to take it on a roadtrip and see how things go with that, but no time for a few months at least.

    help with wheels

If I were going up to 17s here are what I would consider. 1. 17" miata wheels, again, because they're affordable, durable, light, and built for mazdas (for what that's worth) 2. 17" Rota slipstreams. Rota makes lightweight wheels in a ton of configurations, and I've always thought the...

Installed 16" MX-5 Miata wheels, dropped 34 pounds

Yeah, this is true. The stock tires are "all-season" in every sense of the word, so 1st gear traction is even more compromised now that there's less weight in the wheel.

    help with wheels

I got mazda miata wheels. Here's what they look like: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5071364#post5071364 The ones off the 06+ miatas fit perfectly, and are light as hell for not being aftermarket. You can find 16s like mine, or 17s that came on the higher-end miatas for 400~...

Installed 16" MX-5 Miata wheels, dropped 34 pounds

I posted this on the other 3 forum too, but I figured the idea may do someone some good one day. Ever since I got the 3 I'd been looking for a set of alloys to replace the stock steelies+hubcaps. I wanted to stick with oem if possible, and when I heard the newer mx-5's 16" wheels were 15~...

Gear Ratios for 2.0liter 5speed manual?

NM, found it on the mazda press release site. I figure I'll just leave this thread up and link to it for future lookers... http://www.mazdausamedia.com/files/2010%20MAZDA3_specs_0.pdf

Gear Ratios for 2.0liter 5speed manual?

Anyone know what the gear ratios are for the 5speed manual on the newer 2.0 liter mazda3? I don't see it listed anywhere on the mazda site.

What happens at 5500~rpm on the 2.0 Mazda 3?

Could be... I always experienced valve timing changes as being a LOT smoother/less noticeable. I've never heard the induction noise actually go up just from a timing change (unless it's timing AND lift at once, like in an older vtec honda, but this is even louder than the vtec crossover in...

    Back from the Si...

I just wish the 3 had an LSD like the Si does.... that's a *huge* advantage in my book. If we're going to be stuck with fwd, at least give us two working wheels instead of 1.

What happens at 5500~rpm on the 2.0 Mazda 3?

Since I've owned my Mazda 3i sport 2.0 (5speed) I've noticed that at around 5500rpm (indicated) the engine starts pulling noticeably harder and the engine tone changes slightly. It reminds me of the sound/feel of a second set of intake runners opening up, but I'm not certain (I thought that...

Where does the thermostat measure air temperature?

Awesome! Thanks Jason! Yeah it seems like just having that extra temperature sensor could be so useful if it was located somewhere else. I'm sitting here thinking "1. what are all the things I'd like to measure the temperature of?" and "2. Can I rig this to do that somehow" lol

Where does the thermostat measure air temperature?

Does anyone know where the thermostat sensor is on the 2010 mazdas? The sensor that tells the little readout under the clock what outside temperature to display?

    Bose Centerpoint System

A friend that had a bose system in his miata said that only a very limited number of speakers could work well with his bose system at the time... he wasn't able to just go to best buy and pick one out and plug it in and go.

I'm not sure a CAI would even be that much better than an SRI on our cars...

Ahhhh, ok good. I knew about the block being the same, didn't know you could get temps at the MAF (this is my first MAF car lol). Well that's helpful then. Thanks

I'm not sure a CAI would even be that much better than an SRI on our cars...

I'm not talking about the 2.5, I was posting about the 2.0. I know the engine is largely unchanged, the underbody trays are different as is the oem intake piping. Seems like there's basically nowhere to get 'cold air' to the engine on the 2010+ ones, which is different from any other car I've...

I'm not sure a CAI would even be that much better than an SRI on our cars...

I did search the 2010 forum (since the OEM intake piping is different). Thanks for the info though, I'll look for your post.
