A barrel of oil currently at $125. Should we stock up on motor oil?

One of the problems with stocking up is all of a sudden supply is quickly depleted....further fueling (no pun) price increases.

225/55R19 Tire Comparison Table for CX-5 GT - Many to Choose From

Yikes. Stock tires should not rub anywhere in my opinion. Any chance you brought it up with a dealer?

225/55R19 Tire Comparison Table for CX-5 GT - Many to Choose From

You sure that wasn't from installing/removing the wheel from the car? I do that all the time when installing/removing. If you have that much movement between the wheel/tire and the strut when driving, something must be worn out....although there's not much there. It's a fairly rigid connection...

    CX-5 Service Recommendation

If I were to personally choose any of those, I agree with dunhillmc with just the brake fluid. But, I'll admit, we never had the brake fluid changed in my wife's old 09 CX9 after ~12 years and 185k miles. And, I just had it done for the first time on my 100K+ mile 2014 Explorer.

How to tell if the water pump ruined my engine?

I laughed a little at this, but I know I've done some dumb things that had be completely baffled....and felt like an idiot once I figured out the problem was operator error.

    Is the 2013 CX-9 reliable?

Other's pointed out the water pump already. I'll add that it's a crap shoot if/when it goes. My wife had a 2009 CX9 with 185k miles on it and never changed the water pump or coolant in the ~9 years we owned it and never had any issues. I know others haven't been so lucky.

Radio not working at drive thru restaurants

To add to what Sig cx-5 mentioned about buffer, maybe it's not fast food anymore and you're waiting longer? (that's partially a joke)

2016 CX-5 - Lower Gas Mileage after Oil and Filter Change

I agree. About the only way it would make a noticeable difference is if the weight was changed and to see a 4mpg change, would probably have to be a big hot temp weight change (i.e. going to a 0W40).

Low Engine Oil Warning Light on new CX-5

Excessive by a long shot. I agree with that. I had an old car that burned about as much as BushWickz and it literally left a cloud behind the car any time the car was running. I mean, picture diesel coal rolling, but with a gas engine and blue smoke..... all the time.

    2016~2023 Dealer recommended maintenance question

I agree with that. Not to pick on Mazda, just personal experience, I believe the Speed6 had a front camber range of something like -1/+1 degree. It was also un-adjustable so you got what you got. A +1 degree camber would destroy the outside edges of tires....especially the ones on the left if...

Airbag Light Flashes After Prolonged Exposure to Cold

I would argue accuracy (in regards to C or F) doesn't really matter in this case. Would there be a different recommendation if it was 0F vs. 0C? @clownshoes2 - When you say the light goes off after being warm, is that interior is warm or just engine? Wondering if there's a connector inside vs...

    Used CX-5 Price Trends

All used car prices are up right now. I just sold my Golf R to Carmax for more than I paid less than 2 years ago, including all taxes, maintenance and gas. I drove it ~2 years for $0. Plus, I still have the OE wheels to sell. The offer went up a bit from last fall even with more miles. Of...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Pretty sure I was skeptical until I drove one. I mean, you are just one of those internet morons.....I keed of course.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Hopefully someone in MN can get that TSB done today/tomorrow/Thursday since we're in for another deep freeze (~+5F for highs Wednesday/Thursday).

    Turn off ABS?

I always felt braking is best just before ABS kicks in.....at least that's what it feels like on slippery surfaces. The benefit of ABS is that you don't have to try to modulate the pedal. You can mash it and not lock up (i.e. maintain steering). One less thing to think about when panic braking...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

@jcrout7992 - Excellent post and log. Now, I wonder if the throttle blade control can be 'hacked' to get the expected performance all the time. Didn't mazda do something similar on the old Speed3 and Speed6 where they would start to close the throttle body above something like 5k rpm? I...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Nice data log. Shows exactly what I witnessed when I had the OBDII adapter on the one I test drove. Basically no boost until very top of 2nd and 3rd gear picked up noticeably. Are you able to log throttle body position as well? It looks like the ECU is preventing boost by controlling the...

Sub $100 DIY Ceramic coatings - What's the worst that could happen?

I did something similar, but I painted a line instead of tape. We back our cars into the garage because we're on a alley and it's easier to back in than back out. For my Explorer, you back in until the line just disappears under the bumper from the rear camera. Since we don't have to walk in...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

That makes sense. Of course, with my Golf R, I was using launch control going straight. I'm guessing it could be similar to what you experience if I were turning. Also, I'm sure AWD programming is different. My 14 Explorer Sport (3.5L TT Ecoboost) sounds similar to the CX9. In cold weather, if...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

I don't see why it would be a traction issue. Sure it has a bunch of power/torque, but it's not enough to really overwhelm all season tires. And even if it could, they don't have to completely chastise it. Maybe 1/2 boost in the lower gears. Hell, I've launched my Golf R in below 30F with...
