So far with just about 80% Atlanta city driving I'm averaging 22.5mpg on a AWD 2017 CX-5. It's hilly, lots of stop lights, lots of traffic. Took a longer 40 mile round trip and the computer shows just about 29mpg for that trip.

OR OR OR.... You leave lights off and drive to dark road at night then flip them on. You will see the lights get a WEEEE bit brighter. Also I don't think the headlights turn when DRL is on. I drove down the street with DRL only last night testing intensity but don't recall lights bending.

OR you can test by leaving lights in OFF and drive around with DRL only.

Dynamat is not hard to install at all. Putting it in door might add enough mass to the skin to dampen some of the noise down. Besides I'm sure you can find someone to install it for you for much less.
