It's allowed. I have the DDMWorks shifter. It makes a good stock shifter into a great one. I like DDMWorks for this because it reduces throw at the shifter itself, not at the transmission. This means less stress on the cables and cable ends.

I recommend a similar bar(DDMWorks) only because the CS one is aluminum. Aluminum is a poor choice for a spring material.

Put 700# springs up front, with 450# in rear. Rides excellent for my commute now. The heavier fronts seemed to balance out the chassis at 60+.
