Very disapointing fuel economy from recent roadtrip...

    2013 CX5 T, 2.0/FWD - Worst=22.3 - Best=34.8 - Av=29 mpg over 28.000 miles 2015 CX5 T, 2.5/FWD - Worst=21.4 - Best=32.5 - Av=28.1 mpg (pump) - 27.77 (Dash gauge) over 23.000 miles As some others have said, my 70 mph average is usually around 30mpg. I usually drive the speed limit. In cities...

Mazda 2.5 gasoline engine and high octane fuel

I have tried high octane fuel, and pure (no alcohol fuel) with no notable increase in power, or economy.

Delay when shifting from R to D

I have a 2015 Touring, and before that a 2013 Touring. I did not encounter this problem in either one of them.

    Pinstriped CX-5?

My only thought is why didn't it follow the lines of the vehicle. It's just a straight line with no relation to the contours of the CX5.

Any ideas on how to prevent glare in side mirrors?

"I have a horrible parking location which requires me to see the side of the car." Get a pair of those small round blind spot mirrors for the outside mirrors. You can see the sides of the car, parking space lines, and the curb.

Debadged the back of my CX-5

I think I would like it without the emblem, or with it painted black.

Isn't winter gas also formulated different, and less efficient?

    Slight Concern about MPG

I ran a couple of tankful's of pure gas which is sold at a few stations in the Charlotte area. I did not see enough of a change to warrant the additional expense of the pure stuff.

    Slight Concern about MPG

I believe that cold weather & winter gas mix combine to lower mpg. Someone mentioned that the mpg dash display was inaccurate. On my current CX-5 I have tracked mpg by the dash, and the pump math. With 76 fill ups the dash mpg average is 27.61, versus the pump math average of 28.0. This is a...

I just took out the mats, and stowed them in the garage. When the lease expires I will put them back, presto, nice clean mats.

Key Fob Battery - Short Life

Batteries on my 2013 lasted for the three year period of my lease with over 30,000 miles. Batteries on my 2015 are a year, and a half with no problem as of yet.

    CX-5 Resale value

It's been interesting to me how much the sales of big vehicles has gone up with the decrease in gas $$$. Like you say, it's not if it will go up, as much as when.

Best Color for the Mazda CX-5?

We have the Deep Crystal Blue Mica, but I feel that the CX-5 is one of those rare cars that look good in any color.

    Weak 2016 CX-5 Vents

The outer vents nearer the doors have always seemed a lot weaker in air flow than the center two. This has been true in my 2013 Touring, and my current 2015 Touring.

    Slight Concern about MPG

I had a 2013 Touring with the 2.0, and now a 2015 Touring with the 2.5. I did not find the 2.0 under powered, though I do find the added power more entertaining. The reason that I did not find the 2.0 under powered is that I have had VW diesels of 52, 68, and 90 hp. My average mpg's with the...

    Slight Concern about MPG

My average over 25,000 miles, and 72 fillups is 28.4 on the dash read out, and 28.1 at the pump. I find the difference negligible. I probably am at 65/35 on highway versus city driving. With careful throttle I am getting around 24 in the city. Highway mileage is 31 in summer at 70 mph with...

    Road Salt

If you think about it, how many 10 year old, or so, rusty cars do you see, even up in the snow belt area. Today's metals, along with modern car construction makes for a very corrosion resistant car. Now you do see outside rust from chips, and such, but that is mainly due to neglect on the...
