I had the same issue after a drop spring install, trust me: check your endlinks. Mine came off and was rattling around my wheel well!

I know for a fact you can run 225/40/18 on an 18x8 +45 rim. Had that exact setup and never rubbed. I'm running H&R's now with that setup, and I have still never rubbed, even with 5 people in the car. Kicking myself for not going 235/40...

I'm sure there are dozens of people running the same setup as you are right now, and it is most likely "safe". That being said, getting yourself an AP with ATR to data log and then build yourself a custom tune is the best way to make sure you are safe. I have an AP on the way for just that...

So is using ATR to tune a base map to your car really that easy? I have my AP and ATR arriving in about a week, and I'm looking forward to playing around (not literally playing around, but you know what I mean)... Thanks for the explanation!

No I have the original in, I'm calling Mazda this week about getting a new one. Is adding step colder plugs important if I am doing the DP/RP?

Don't want a top mount, I've done a lot of research and talked to a lot of people and have decided to go the front mount route. But a test pipe is looking like it's going to be a winner here soon :)

Thanks 240ka, I'll keep that all in mind. PG has the internals for sale, so I'm gonna get them from there (if needed). As soon as I get the AP I'm gonna do a bunch of logging and decide where to go from there (most likely DP/RP/FP). I see you're awaiting the AP, let me know how you like it!

Thanks for all the opinions guys. I know it wasn't on my list, but I was able to pick up a used AP with ATR last night for a decent price, so that's my first step. That way no matter what mods I add down the road I'll be able to keep the car running safe. I'm going to send my head unit back...

How long since you've had them installed? Mine took almost a full week to settle, and made some pretty ****** up noises and felt wonky during that time. Now that they've settled, I have my full 1.5-2" drop, and they feel pretty damn good. I'm on stock suspension setup otherwise.

I only figured this out a few months ago. I didn't ask anyone when I installed mine, just threw the shim in at the top and ran it like that for months (bang)
