All they do for custom cams is take the spec of the old ones and cut news ones using your old specs. you would be able to keep the old cams. I'm not sure. I don't have VVTi or what not. I have a 04 2.0l and that was what my shop told me. You might want to call a shop and ask.

You could always have cams custom cut. There is a shop around where I live that gave me a quote on a set of mild street cams, they came to about 600. It sounds like a decent price to me.

Don't feel too bad about having your car dogged by mazda. Paretti curb-checked my only good rim on my old set and took out a good inch chunck of metal out of it, along with a hefty amount of rubber. I bitched at them and said that was never there, but the other three were so far off anyways...

never used 'em, but paretti in metairie is just as bad. their service writers don't call you for s***, they give you the run around for a few weeks and then decide that you needed an appointment to get your car looked at. it's my belief that all mazda dealers tend to suck complete ass.

it went to mazda today. they said they will cover it. yay!! Todd, it vibrated back and forth, and made a really loud twack when the wheel was cut to the right. I advise you to atleast look at your diff. since our cars are nearly identical.
