    J-spec 20Z black tail light

just wondering, woudn't it make more sense to do a projector lamp for the reverse? In my last car, a 2000 Daewoo Matiz, the reverse is also the rear foglight (in Europe not in mine) so it had probably one of the brightest reverse I had ever seen. Is it the pictures, or would white LEDs be...

Brief but Good Review of the Mazda5 at AutoWeek

Here's a Brief but Postive Review of the Mazda5 at AutoWeek. But reading the comments, Some People just doesn't seem to like cars that have less than 200hp, saying that it's Slow and Underpowered. Here's the link http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080307/FREE/339798663/1532/FREE

    US Daytime Running Lights

That's why I Love my 5GS with Auto ON Lights although at times I feel it comes on a liitle later than I like, maybe because the DRL's there.

    US Daytime Running Lights

DRL's are standard in Canada because conditions can change in an instant, and Yes people are sometimes stupid enough not to turn their lights on even when the condition warrants it. I've seen people drive at night with lights off. That's the Problem that does exists.

    POLL: Mazdaspeed3 or RX8 wheels?

I love both though I'd prefer the RX8 rims. But being the practical bloke that I am, I'd still prefer the 16" rims of my GS, cheaper tires, more comfortable ride. We don't have nice smooth roads here in Winnipeg. You could hear and feel the clop, clop, clop of the road joints even with the 16"s.

Fifth Gear - Mazda 5 vs Citroen C4 Picasso Review

I'd prefer the Picasso over the Rondo, considering it has many "quirky only Citroen can offer" details. But, My 5 is still the best of the three no matter what.(canada)

    Factory Spoiler Question??? PICS

Just wondering, would the difference in profile minimize the turbulence behind the 5? I noticed right now that the GS without any spoiler swirls the condensation from the exhaust around the back. The factory spoiler on the GT slopes downward so I suspect it doesn't really do much difference from...

i think i need snow tires

I had a friend whose car spun 360degrees last saturday, fortunately she had no car coming on the opposite direction and the car behind was far away. She and her car was ok except for her confidence that night. That I think is the best example why we need Snow Tires!

    Mazda5 real-world Mileage numbers

My guess is that the unsprung weight of the 18's compared to the OEM wheels might be higher thus affecting your mileage. I changed to lighter wheels on my old car once and I could instantly feel the improvement in the steering and had much better mileage later.

What is the lowest temperature recorded on your Mazda5?

There's one time that Weather Canada declared an Extreme Cold Warning in Toronto and the temperature is -18C with windchill at -25C. We don't get any Extreme Cold Warning here in Winnipeg until the temperature drops to -30C below with windchill below -40C!! (shocked)

    auto climate control question

One thing I noticed is that if I changed any settings from Auto, the inside of the car fogs quite easily so I just put it in auto and adjust the temperature accordingly.

    Mazda5 vs Kia Rhondo Pics

Considering that at first I was planning more on buying a Rondo (second) than the Mazda5... that would have been a Big Mistake! Fortunately We visited a Mazda dealer first, I took a Mazda5 GS on the spot!(first)

Post the dirtiest picture of your Mazda5

Ha ha, My 5 would win this hands-down. It's been a bit warm here early this week, so we got lots of slush and that means Very Dirty Cars out here. I'll try to post some pics later.

    Snow tires!

I have Goodyear UltraGrip 7's on mine. I'm impressed with the grip of these and am quite surprised that many people here don't change their tires. 16 inch on black steelies.

    12V Socket?

There's one under the shifter and one on the left side of the boot on the 07, I assume it's the same on the 08.

    mudflaps for GT

I noticed one additional benefit my winter tires (Goodyear UltraGrip7) gave me, my Mazda5 is less dirty than most cars here especially when there are lots of slush on the roads. There are still the thick 'dried slurpy of snow,' but only in the wheel wells and below the side skirts. The tires...

    Does "Under-powered" mean "Over-strained?"

I had a Daewoo Matiz with an 800cc 3-cylinder engine and 5-speed transmission, now that is Underpowered. 70% of the time, with me, my wife and infant on a child seat most of the time it's adequate but with 5 passengers, I can hardly get to 5th gear and have to down shift to 1st when needed...

    Winter weather and sliding doors?

There was one time I feared the sliding door stuck but later I realized it's still Locked. (hand) Haven't stuck since it started to get cold (-20C plus) here. Sometimes it's a bit heavy but still opens.

    Anyone "downgraded" to 16's?

That's an understatement... I'm sliding all over before I changed to Goodyear Ultra Grip 7s on steelies on my 5. I'm amazed how majority of my friends doesn't think much of changing to winter tires considering the kind of weather we have here in Winnipeg. (uhm) Now, I'm driving like it's summer...
