    2020 CX-5 observations and reviews

Too bad they didn’t update the pathetic seats.

    New CX5 Owner - Questions

All car seats should have decent bolstering to keep the driver from sliding around. You don’t need no to be pulling .9 Gs to be moved around in a car. It’s marketed as and is a fun to drive cross over, that’s why so many of us on this forum drive them.

    New CX5 Owner - Questions

Not a sports car.... so that means it doesn’t turn left and right?

    2017~2025 Any bolt-in seat upgrades?

This is why I’m hesitant to pull the seat and start cutting foam, I don’t want to ruin it. For me, i just need at least half of base bolsters removed and replaced with a softer foam. I just don’t know how to go about doing it to keep both sides even and have the leather not look like crap.

High Mileage CX-5s - report in

Lol. Not every vehicle is impacted by all “known issues” for a model. I have a 16,5 with 45k. No recalls. No brake issues since pads were replaced. No DRL issues.

    2017~2025 Any bolt-in seat upgrades?

I would LOVE to know if there is a more comfortable and supportive bolt in replacement. I’ve added a memory foam cushion and it helps somewhat. However after a while, the foam compresses and my hips are throbbing again because of sitting on top of the hard bolsters. I’m considering taking the...

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

Interesting that there were reports of this with the speed 3s. Would really like to know if its limiting fuel, boost or both. And of course, why. Im thinking boost based on the sound of the blowoff valve being lower when the issue is occurring. As if there is less pressure built up to blow...

Car and Driver 10 Best 2020

I would spend some more time in the cx5 to make sure the seat doesnt cause pain in your hips and thighs. Seat is ridiculous in this car. Im getting close to ditching this thing after only a year because I cant be in it for more than 20 minutes without pain.

CX-5 turbo detuned during break in?

Ok-so prove that by testing and documenting instead of just claiming it feels fine. I dont want anyones car to have this issue. its just highly unlikely this tuning issue only impacts some vehicles.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

More than just Unobtanium and myself have reported this. The thread created today for example by a member that took one for a test drive. Reports are outside of the forum as well but Im not going to get into that since its all documented on here somewhere. You still have nothing proving yours...

CX-5 turbo detuned during break in?

Cold weather performance loss that is likely to impact all turbo 2.5s. Those claiming theirs isnt impacted have no data to support it. The OPs description matches what others, including myself have reported. Initial grunt is there then it falls flat and power delivery is linear.

Winter is here and my CX-5 Turbo is now a 2.0L!

lots of customers? I think Ive only seen one person complain about the NA 2.5 and cold weather power loss. This is a turbo model issue/quirk.

    Only OEM windshield for now.

Ive had plenty of chips repaired before but never one with a star like this, so Im just not as not as optimistic. They didnt say anything one way or the other, so time will tell.

    Only OEM windshield for now.

So far I got lucky and they were able to fill it. Still a visible star, so Im concerned it will eventually crack. I must say this windshield can take a lot more than the first gen. This was a pretty big rock. Low speed but big hit.

    Only OEM windshield for now.

Were they OEM replacements each time? Have the wiper heaters, rain sensors and cameras been working as expected since the replacements? I have a star the size of a quarter that Im not sure will make it to the shop without cracking. although I did already drive 30 miles back from the mountain...

Thats great. My local dealer lies to my face about checking transmission fluid. Looking forward to hearing about the data logging.

Next Gen CX-5 Design and Content Suggestions

Only noticeable flair that bothers me with my GT-R is the cold 1-2 shift. The converter is not locking early enough. Gone once at operating temp. How could flair be a result of a locked converter? Flair is similar to slipping as I understand it.

Next Gen CX-5 Design and Content Suggestions

    1) New Seats! -wider base with proper bolstering that doesnt hurt people with narrower waists -longer base for proper leg support -back with bolsters that can actually hold a medium/small build person in place. 2) Consistent power delivery from the turbo engine regardless of outside temps...
