    Really strange noise while driving

@sinistriel@ Can a replacement rear diff be calibrated or coded with 3rd party tools or does it require Mazda MDS/IDS? Thanks!

    Really strange noise while driving

Can you pinpoint front or rear and which side? Sounds like a wheel bearing I just replaced on my G35x. Do you notice the noise changing going into corners at speed? Is it fairly consistent at speed regardless of the pavement surface condition and age?

    2017~2025 CX-5 Rear Differential Failure

I’ve continued to use a 80w90 GL-5 in my ‘15 and replacing every 25-30k miles (~40,000–48,000 km) IIRC.. you can get up to 50% power transfer to rear when needed but pre-load backed off from the ‘13-‘16.5 models to 0%.. starting with ‘17 I think for MPG There were some articles on it years...

    2017~2025 CX-5 Rear Differential Failure

I think logic changed ‘17+ but Gen 1 keeps 1% pre-load of power on rear differential at all times as seen in FSM documentation from years back Also Gen one owners need to make sure they have the water ingress TSB performed that can allow water from a car wash to enter the rear differential vent...

    CX-5 does well...

Interesting to see how far the Subaru has fallen below it for traction.

Need Help with CX-5 Oil issue PCV

Sounds more like a valve cover for $180. If not hang onto that mechanic for his rates.. that’s near a single hour in my area. It’s some major work to re-seal the TC. Mine was resealed twice under warranty and it still weeps. I accepted just cleaning it up every few oil changes with some...

Higher-output alternators or DC power options for CX-5?

You can use any of the DC-to-DC chargers as well with some of the all-in-one power stations or standalone LiFePO4 batteries. I use both.. I tend to lean on LiTime for my standalone batteries among several off-grid solar installations totaling around 30,000Wh

Higher-output alternators or DC power options for CX-5?

You might check with this company to see if ‘25 will work. I have seen some discussion that output might get suppressed by vehicle ECU so not sure if that is still an issue. https://www.powerbastards.com/proddetail.asp?prod=20288-250-HD3-6 If you are looking for a DC-to-DC charger I highly...

    2013~2016 CX-5 Oil Burn

Wonder if PCV valve is clogged if no obvious leaks? This is part of the oil separator under the intake IIRC

    2016 CX-5 AWD vs 2015 FWD - MPG

I don’t remember what year it changed or if it was simply start of Gen 2 but Gen 1 has about a 1% pre-load of power always sent to the rear diff. IIRC.. that was removed in later years

    Thoughts on 0-20W Oil?

    Thoughts on 0-20W Oil?

IMO: Fluid weights and brands will never be a settled topic... it is up there with politics and religion If I don't have oil consumption or leaks over a long period of time I'm good with it... that is just me though... and IMO
