well if you look at the picture i am supplying gears are already in place, already spinning together, syncros are there to lock the gear for use, drive gears do not seperate from eachother. but for orngspd03 i would have the service tech with you in the car and drive it so he can hear it with...

well you really dont have to worry about your 3rd gear grinding to a nub, the damage will be the syncro itself
