Wondering if this will fit the Protege5 without too much modding - HID retro

Good to know. Another thought, do ya'll have any preferences on clearing up lenses that have the "faded" or rock chips a little?

Wow, thanks for the pictures! So you got that actual kit? That seems really simple and relatively cost effective. Looks good though!

Wondering if this will fit the Protege5 without too much modding - HID retro

With that kit, will I have to do any cutting etc? Curious as to this statement "Disassemble headlights, insert threaded mounting shaft of the projector through the pre-existing hole in the back of your reflector bucket, tighten the stack with the included hardware, and you're virtually done...

Wondering if this will fit the Protege5 without too much modding - HID retro

http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=227 Looking at setting an HID kit into my P5. I absolutely love the cutoff and look of projectors and I don't want to be one of those A**holes with blaring HID's. Any tips? I'm looking to do Bi-xenon, I don't like not...

Adjusting stock headlights for HID conversion, made a little easier?

I want to say maybe? I've never thought about it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Each ballast is on it's own. I like math, a lot. But Just a good old tape measure and checking to make sure the headlights are level with the final spread seems to be good enough to me.

    Noise in the belts area.

However, if your belts have already been tightened to much..they can squeak also or even break. Just a heads up!

    Noise in the belts area.

I can't hear the video, but is it a chirping noise? like a bird? or a loud squeal? On days that it is very damp out and cold, I get a belt chirp occasionally and once the car warms up it goes away. Even with 2 new belts, and just did the timing belt it still does it. The only other thiing it...

Adjusting stock headlights for HID conversion, made a little easier?

Hey everyone, Nevermind, that's this was probably the dumbest thing I've asked. If I wanted to stay with stock reflectors, couldn't I just adjust the headlight lower than stock and not blind people

Anybody been stopped or ticketed for running HID conversions?

I see people with the HID's in NC all the time, but they won't pass inspection usually unless they came stock equipped. So just keep hold of the stock bulbs to place in there for inspection if they won't pass it.

    H Rated Tires

I have H rated on my P5 and on my miata. I believe most people do have H rated. If they aren't anymore money go with the V rated. They're rated for 149mph versus 130 mph. I don't think you'll be doing 130+.

Recommendations on some good aftermarket P5 parts/brands/etc.

jackie chan, i know mine is an auto (boo). Would doing an exahust system let it run out a little more? It seems around 5500 it feels restricted, but has more to give. Same with the 5spds? Just curious and might help OP somehow

Tire sizes - Not really happy with the tires previous owner put on it.

Not lowered at all. turn locked to lock and checked with the 205 on the car there's at least 1.5" even when turned lock to lock. Kumho makes a 215/40-17 and it's only 91$ or so on tire rack/discount tire

    H Rated Tires

H rated tires are good to up to 130 MPH. I don't think many people go 130 MPH in their P5's. You can go lower if you don't expect you'll be driving that fast. But that's what is recommended for the car from what I've seen. Here's a page if you scroll down it explains speed ratings. scroll...

Tire sizes - Not really happy with the tires previous owner put on it.

***TOOK out this dumb part - my own fault EDIT: Looked up the rim. 40mm offset and searched for offset (what it is)... from what im understanding its the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting plate where the wheel attaches the hub. please tell me if im wrong.

Tire sizes - Not really happy with the tires previous owner put on it.

The suspension on this car is all stock. I just feel like the wheel wells are really empty with the tires that are on it.. And I like the rims so I don't want to replace them (discontinued). I also think the tires aren't wide enough to fully fit the rim fully though... the 205-40/17 treads seem...

Tire sizes - Not really happy with the tires previous owner put on it.

Hey everyone, So a couple weeks have gone by since I got my P5. I'm starting to rethink the very low profile tires. He's got Kumho asx 205/40-17s on konig crosshairs 17X8. Looking at the wheel well and rims compared to the tires. The tires just seem too small especially height wise. It's...

    No Spark, Wont Start

uhh, I've officially gone out of this discussion. Are you saying when your key turns off there is a spark? it should definitely NOT be doing that. I've never heard of any car doing that.

    No Spark, Wont Start

no spark on all cylinders? Or did you just check one? Someone else chime in though, but sounds like a coil packs or something else related to the ignition system I should add: Did you physically take the spark plug boots off a plug and take one of the plugs out and turn the engine over to see...
