    How 'bout them windshields...

I took a nasty hit on the way home last week. The rock was large enough I could see it coming and it hit about an inch from the side of the windshield. Made a really loud noise when it hit and left a small pit in the surface of the glass but no crack or chip to actually repair.

    Loud exhaust on morning startup

I've only run into that sound from the engine once but it really struck me as odd since it was new and unexpected. To me it sounded like they were grinding concrete in the distance. I don't know if you've been around an area where they were resurfacing concrete roads/bridges but it sounded...

Anyone else notice how "slow to react" ambient air temp readout is?

Mine usually reads a few degrees high but I figure just above the surface of the black road it is probably hotter than in the shade somewhere.

    TPMS sensitivity

Mine has gone off twice over small variances, I forget just how much but never an puncture. It goes off the difference in rotation speeds between the wheels so a greater gain in one tire could cause it to think the other 3 were off or a lesser gain in one tire would look like its pressure was...

Factory Fill for MAZDA CX-5 engine, and running in.. Anyone know this stuff??

I'd possibly find another service writer. Mazda's oil is Full Synthetic, not a blend and the manual actually recommends full synthetic (for US and Canada)

    What MPG are you getting???

I usually vary from about 28 to 30 depending on my driving style. On longer trips it gets around 33 and on one fill up when I'd been driving a bit enthusiastically it dropped down around 26. Numbers based on calculations. I rarely reset the average readout so I'm not sure what it would have...

    Automatica USB

this looks kinda cool. But for $100 I can probably just keep a couple USBs on hand and switch them out as I change music. https://automaticaweb.com/

Air still comes out of vents when fan is set to ZERO for OFF

I haven't looked on this car yet but there are typically vents at the back end of the car near the bumper. They have flaps on them so that air can come out but not go back in through those spots. So as mentioned if you don't have the system set on recirc even with the fan off and everything...

Anyone else notice how "slow to react" ambient air temp readout is?

Mine will bounce between two numbers quite rapidly at times so it seems to sample quite often. When the temp is just right it will fluctuate several times a second. My guess is that they overdid the delay that MikeM mentioned. I can see some use for it to avoid having it read crazy high...

Remote problems after it was dropped

does the tiny LED on the fob flash when you press a button after dropping it?

Anyone else notice how "slow to react" ambient air temp readout is?

Mine does the same thing. At first I figured it was like MikeM mentioned that it waits a bit to change from the prior temperature to the new one but 45 minutes renders it somewhat useless. And I'd be worried it might be as slow to react to cold in which case it could be reading well above...

    slow to react temperature readout

woops, I didn't search Electronics.... which would make sense as to where the thread would be... I guess the heat is getting to me.

    slow to react temperature readout

It is just under 100 degrees right now and when I got in the car and started it the readout said 81. I realize it doesn't instantly change, but the problem is typically when it gets noticeably hotter between when I park and start it again it takes about 45 minutes to get to the right...

I need new headrest (or mod the OEMs)

just a quick (and pretty sloppy) photoshop job on the photo from another post. Even reclined the headrest still is in the way if she tries to sit with her body straight. It is just more dramatic the way she had it in that photo, which was probably her goal. So it isn't the angle of the...

I need new headrest (or mod the OEMs)

Basically the difference I've found is if one sits with their shoulders against the seat or not. If one drives like in this picture: It isn't a problem, her shoulders aren't back against the seat so the headrest doesn't get in the way. (and whatever car she is in doesn't have headrests that are...

I need new headrest (or mod the OEMs)

The European CX-5's actually have what are called Active Head Restraints. They are a bit more complex in that the 'active' part it is mostly in the seat. On impact the force of your body against the lower part of the seat pushes a levered type system that then pushes the headrest forward to...

Removing the rear windshield wiper assembly

To each their own but I use mine often enough to find it helpful. I end up with water sitting on the glass quite often depending on how heavy it is raining and since it is always at times when the visibility is already compromised I appreciate any way to increase visibility. Plus hatchbacks...

Anyone did a complete Exterior Detailling on their CX-5?

before you buy anything I'd recommend reading, reading and more reading: www.autopia.org or http://www.autogeekonline.net/' or www.detailingbliss.com There are lots of good tips there and people that will answer questions about your particular car. The polishes chosen depend on the paint...
