    NY Times review of Mazda5

Another good review.... it still befuddles me why Mazda refuses to market this vehicle.

Well...thinking of getting a new 5...how about some feedback from owners.

Love my Mazda 5. It is extremely versatile. Carries a ton of people and cargo. It gets decent mileage. It handles very well (for it's class). The only thing it lacks is a ton of power. But you can't have everything. Just read some of the threads. You'll get a good idea of what people like...

    Test Drive in Progress...

We have both a Mazda5 and Sienna. The Mazda5 is good for about 90% of what we want to do with our vehicles. The only time we really can't use the 5 is when we are transporting 7... legally (lol)

    Debating - Mazda5 or Mazda3

From your description, my advice is get the 3. With your Mercedes B200 it sounds like you already have the "cargo haulin'" need fulfilled. With the Mazda 3 you'll have the "fun to drive" need fulfilled. The Mazda5 is fun to drive compared to a big minivan but it's not that fun compared to the...

Hondas 2011 Odyssey Concept Aims at the Hesitators

The "real minivan" ... I'd say is the Mazda5. It is a real minivan alot more so than the other so-called minivans. There is nothing "mini" about them. They have grown almost 30 inches in length over the years.

Hondas 2011 Odyssey Concept Aims at the Hesitators

+1 but preaching to the choir. Any guy posting in this particular forum is probably way beyond any stigma of minivans. LOL

Hondas 2011 Odyssey Concept Aims at the Hesitators

Yeah, it's really a shame that "sliding doors" have become associated with the stigma of the "mom's minivan". I always wondered why no manufacturer have ever put sliding doors on any of their SUVs or crossovers. It really would increase the "Utility" part of the SUV even more. Too bad the...

Hondas 2011 Odyssey Concept Aims at the Hesitators

It's a shame how sensitive people have become to "image". Probably a bigger shame how sliding doors have become associated only with "mom mobiles". If you have ever hauled lumber, bricks or something else that is insanely large and heavy, you cannot underestimate the benefit of sliding doors...

    Gettin' the wife a High5!

LOL... that's so true. When you get over 30 and 40, the label doesn't bother you too much. I understand, but its still the coolest minivan on the planet. (does that sound any better?) LOL

    Gettin' the wife a High5!

I have an 08 Touring. 1. I agree with the previous poster, the rear AC/heater vent really makes a difference. I think they made that change in the 08 year. 2. The 3rd row seat is indeed small. It is an engineering feat that they even managed to put one in. It's OK for short trips but I...

    March 2010 Mazda Sales

I don't think Mazda has the marketing muscle to compete with Ford. Despite it getting continual positive reviews, most people still do not even know about the Mazda5. As someone else on the board said, "it is the best car that no one knows about." And even in the good months, it only sells...

    March 2010 Mazda Sales

I agree but if you check Mazda sales in 2009 they really did tank... as much as the other manufacturers. Only Chrysler had a worse month than Mazda in March. Having to use Chrylser and Mazda in the same sentence speaks for itself. The saving grace is that Mazda is doing much better in Europe...

    March 2010 Mazda Sales

Only a 5.5% increase over last year. This can't be good news when Kia sales went up 24% and Subaru was up over 40%.

    Interested in Mazda5

That's hard to believe because the Mazda5 have already been around for years in Asia and Europe as the Premacy. They really didn't add anything from their Asian/European cousins. In fact they even deleted some options. My guess is that Mazda N.A has poured all their advertising dollars into...

    Interested in Mazda5

That's exactly my experience. I went car shopping and eventually stumbled on the Mazda5. Previously I never new it existed. It has gotten fantastic reviews and was just named by Consumer Reports as the best Family vehicle for 2010. Personally I think Mazda is doing a horrible job marketing...

    New Guy

I tried the manual mode a few times and it actually does work. It's not as much control as a regular stick but it is enough in case you need it, esp in weather.

    New Guy

I am the opposite. I grew up on stick shift. My first two cars were stick shift. It was second nature to me. I moved out to LA and began to hate it. Now I drive automatics. In inclement weather, stick is great. In traffic, not so much
