What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Swapped out the rear wheel bearings on our 2012 AWD model. What. A. Pain. In. The. Ass. Didn't take very long, but what an arduous process getting those hub bolts out. The YouTube video was a god-send for guidance.

Mazda Wheel alignment caster out of range

Just be up front with them. Tell them you didn't look at the report until you got home, then noticed the castor numbers seemed out of whack. Be sure to mention how the car drives, and you are curious if they can throw the car on the rack to verify the numbers and see if they are really that...

Mazda Wheel alignment caster out of range

Castor is not adjustable, but since you replaced the lower control arms I would expect it to fall mostly into place. I would be tempted to ask them to verify. My gut says they didn't really measure it since it isn't adjustable and it takes some level of effort to measure. FYI, castor helps...

Upgrading from Mazda5 - Which car?

It was a great vehicle. Even better that they offered a trim level with a manual transmission! The Mazda5 did have tremendous capability for its size and class. I always looked at it as a 3-row Mazda3, which it effectively was. However, we found it a little bit tight on certain occasions...

Upgrading from Mazda5 - Which car?

We went from our Mazda5 to a CX-9. It was the only move that gave us the 3-row seating we wanted, and the Mazda experience that the wife wanted. If Mazda had kept the Mazda5 or similar vehicle in the line-up, we might have stayed in that class.

    Protege5 Headlight change question

I have to disagree, the light output looks bright, but it's pretty clear from this picture that the glare for other drivers is horrible:

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

When I did the bearing repair on my old 2008 Mazda5, I just bought new knuckles and didn't even try removing the old bearings. Tossed the whole package right in the bin.

    FSZE Protege5 Track Build

Nice update! When I had my Protege sedan, I found a stash of those front spoilers on Ebay, and ran one on my ES bumper. I loved the way it changed the look of the sedan bumper. I'll have to see if I can dig up a picture... I was always a fan of the Kosei wheels too. VERY light weight for...

    Protege5 Headlight change question

If your car has 3-prong headlights, and is indeed a Protege5, then someone modified something at some point during its life. Post some pictures of the car, headlights, and socket.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

The fuel gauge is not linear, so I wouldn't use it for calculating distances. It's most useful just as a fuel reserve reference.

Mazda3 Rough idle when brake pedal is pressed

Our CX-9 had a TSB for failure of the brake booster. When it started going out, it would make hissing noises during braking. Then, when it finally let go, would cause the idle to fluctuate when pressing the brake pedal, and made stopping the car an exercise in leg strength. While a failure...

Opinions on Rev9 Hyper Street II Coilovers

If I were in your shoes, and for reference, I'm not, I would get the CorkSport springs paired with some Bilstein B6 shocks. The springs will give you the stance you want, and the shocks will give you the body control you need. Should make for a nice handling CX-5!

Mazda3 Rough idle when brake pedal is pressed

Sounds like a possible vacuum leak in the brake booster

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

You'll get zero power gain from removing the intake resonator. You will get increased intake noise, so if that your thing, go for it.
