I just had my Mini Clubman totaled out, and I just renewed my insurance policy, too. I dropped collision coverage, and the new policy is half the cost it was before.

It will have a salvage title, yes. But again, the car isn't worth all that much, despite what sentimental value it has for you. Insurance will total loss a car when the repairs value over 75% the value of the vehicle. At best, in excellent condition, the car is worth $2500. 75% of that value...

Being an '07 with 90k miles, it really isn't worth anything, except the low cost of ownership. Take the buyout from insurance and tell them you want to keep the car. Get some used bumper parts off eBay, and drive it for another however many years you want to keep it.

Nice score!! Those will make the rear end nice and tight. Not sure you "NEED" to 3D scan them. I would think tape measure would be fine, as they aren't critical dimension pieces. They just need to hold the rear sway bar in place towards the bends.

I saw an incident where someone tried doing that and claiming a rear-ender, but the car had a dashcam that caught the driver backing up. Stuff like that convinces me that a dash cam is a requirement these days.

I never put any faith in those on-board fuel economy readouts. I always view them as "interesting to know" tidbits. Probably only good for "miles to empty" information. If you are at all interested in actual fuel mileage, the hand calculation using tank fill up gallons and trip miles will be...

Sounds like you're reading your fuel economy numbers from the on-board mpg display? The correct method is to hand calculate based on mile driven per tank and how many gallons at fill up. I imagine you'll get vastly different numbers performing the hand calculation.

I started using that stuff on my Mini. Right after application, it looks great. I'm anxious to see how long it lasts. I'm hoping with another application, it will last through the winter.

The silver "connector" is the HID igniter. To remove it from the bulb, twist firmly to the left and it will pop off. There are two tabs on the bulb that hold it on. The igniter has spring clips that hold it to the bulb. If you try to just pull it off, you'll break something.

It is a great looking car. But, unfortunately, not coming the the USA unless they can build them somewhere outside China.
