    Dealer won't use synthetic oil - 2022 CX-5 Turbo

Not sure what the Shop Foreman did that was lacking? Unlike in a medical setting, the gloves are more for the protection of the wearer, not so much for the cars. It's not like he is going to cross contaminate that white car in the next bay. With oil changes, I put on one glove to twist off the...

What have you done to your CX-3 today?

I changed my oil/filter today at 6.3K miles. Decided to switch to Idemitsu 5w30 and OEM filter. Here's a picture of a Royal Purple filter (L) next to a Mazda Thailand filter (R), both are new, the plastic cover on the Mazda was removed. Similar size, the main difference is the pink silicone...

    OBD2 Scanner/App: what sensors/values to monitor?

Changed my oil/filter today after 6.3K miles. With Mazda Thailand filter and Idemitsu 5w30. Will see if that impact the temp at all. Going forward, 6K miles OCI.

How many Drain & Fills before full transmission/filter service?

The only kit I am aware of is from Blauparts. It includes Ravenol ATF-FZ, rubber gasket, RTV sealant, filter, drain plug washer, and o-rings for the filter. It has everything that a DIYer needs for the task. It does not include pan bolts that some choose to replace at the same time. I found out...

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

I got one that has a detachable power/control unit. The instruction says not to touch it, ever, even for testing, but I had to. It should work. 🤕 The squirrels have been showing interest in the undercarriage of my van. Will put the mat to test this weekend.

2007~2015 CX-9 Transmission Drain and Fill

Were you able to find more info on the CX-9 sub-forum about transmission shuddering? There are a few threads describing the same symptoms.

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

I have never seen a cat happy about a lion cut. 😂 Would love to have a barn cat but only if I can keep it safe from other predators in the wild. For now, I will see if a training/shocking mat can keep critters away.

How many Drain & Fills before full transmission/filter service?

The average diligent owners start draining/filling at 60K miles transmission fluid (plus transfer case oil and rear differential oil if AWD.) Your mechanic is on point. If by full service you mean replacing the filter, that can happen later, much later. Mazda doesn't offer a kit, but there is...

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

If there's any chance that it's got friends and families in the vicinity, keeping the remains nearby, in a well ventilated area, will allow them the opportunity to grieve and move on...

2007~2015 CX-9 Transmission Drain and Fill

Congrats on your new CX-9! The pan has to come off before you can access the filter. Let me find you the thread for more details.... I was wrong: no serviceable filter. I got an error when trying to load the below thread...

Awesome that you caught it! Is the bugger still breathing?

    Fuel efficiency issue?

This is very interesting! I didn't know that collision repair can impact fuel economy. I suppose newer/smarter Mazdas take into account more than just fuel and distance in the calculation. For my old school 2017 Mazda, the only time I notice a big change in fuel economy is after a battery...

Rodents eating wiring in cars. Does Mazda have this problem?

Between the two types of split loom sleeves that I have used, only the plastic tubes (as pictured) have sustained damage. The woven type has not. I believe it is because the plastic tubes are more rigid, whereas the woven kind would just collapse when force is applied. I might do a human bite...

Anyone try yellow bulbs in the fog lights?

I really like this look! Don't have fog lights though, just DRL. 🙆

The sunset lights with app control (via Bluetooth) allows me to set them on a timer (from 7 pm to 7 am next day). Unless disconnected from the power source (battery), the light keeps the schedule in its memory.
