I always tighten the oil filter by hand. They stay put and come off with reasonable efforts especially if you lubed the rubber gasket before putting it on. LM moly treatment is available on Amazon for about $9. Can it be cheaper elsewhere? Would you be interested in replacing the drain plug...

Today the temp peaked at 226 on my way back. Yesterday it went up to 222 on the way over. Same route, similar traffic condition. MPG is down to below 35 which is the normal average.
