    OBD2 Scanner/App: what sensors/values to monitor?

Thank you! I didn't look for the sensor though when I had the pan off. Is it on the side or at the bottom?

    Dealer won't use synthetic oil - 2022 CX-5 Turbo

For the screws on the cover, what size of wing heads to use? I have three on my cover. They are the reason why I always use ramps because I am so used to pointing a screwdriver straight up. On my other lower cars with no covers, I just need to reach under to flip the switch on the valve. Edit...

What 5W30 oil brand do you use in your CX-9?

This sounds familiar as I just came across this video yesterday: 😄

    OBD2 Scanner/App: what sensors/values to monitor?

Thank you! I didn't know that. Was surprised that I could even get the ATF temp on a CX-3 mid trim. Even if it is a calculated number, it is the only number I can go by. I will make a chart later for engine load, coolant temp, and oil temp from the log.

    OBD2 Scanner/App: what sensors/values to monitor?

It goes up when in traffic but otherwise stays below 200 when the oil temp hikes. The first chart is from yesterday afternoon, one hour trip back from one job. The flat line is because I forgot to disconnect and it kept logging. The second one is this morning, half hour trip to another...

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

I wonder how the ADBV on these non-oem filters impact the flow. On the RP unit, the diaphram seems to be very close to the inlet holes. On the Pentius, the diaphram sits a bit deeper. Thinking about changing out the current oil/filter at 5K and then go 3K on the non-oem filters so they don't go...

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

OEM has large inlet holes. The holes in the center tube are much smaller but densely spaced. The RP filter is heavy metal. 😂 To go the extra miles, they make it extra strong. The media surface area is disproportionately small. It seems that the media can get clogged up well before extended use...

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

This is a Pentius Ultra Flow PLB6607, also with holes in the center tube, smaller though, than those on PG. It is also shorter. The PG has 5 rows of holes inside, this, only 4. The filter media also seems to go all the way to the bottom, but it is smaller than PG. Hmm, does that spring stay...

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

Besides one RP, I have two more new filters on my supplies shelf. This is a Premium Guard 4612EX. The holes are large inside. From what I can see, the filter media goes all the way to the bottom.

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

A shot of the interior of these filters. All three have the grater type of slits. Edit: Looking more closely, I can see that both Purolator and RP have slits facing up and down. For Bosch, the slits all face up.
