How to completely disable cylinder deactivation?

Only way you're gonna remove it is to buy a different car. Would be nice if there was a button to disable it like I-Stop.

CX-5 Making Weird Sounds Upon Acceleration

No way at 24k trans fluid is going to be dark and yucky. Also I don't think they can flush the system, more likely they just drained and then filled a few quarts. If I were you I would find a different dealer and have then diagnose the noise. Sounds like you're gonna get a new transmission. Is...

    CX-5 stalled at high speed

I knew from the first couple posts that this was not going to end well.

2025 PP CX-5 Cylinder Deactivation Question

I think you hit the nail on the head. CD doesn't activate until you hit cruise speed and you cant deactivate it. You can deactivate I-Stop but you have to do it each time you start the car.

Feelings about the 2026 CX-5 eliminating turbo and physical buttons?

It's possible Mazda realized they weren't selling many CX-50's so they dropped the turbo in the CX-5 to push people who want the CX-5 turbo to the CX-50. Won't work.

2022 CX-5 Non Turbo Oil Dilution?

There's been people on this site that had the job done by the dealer and I don't remember any complaints. If it were me I'd have it done. Hopefully some of them will chime in.

Rattly noise from engine on cold start up

Where are you located? What is the oil specs in your area? 0w20, 5w20, etc. I'd try a little heavier oil, see if it quiets it down. If manual calls for 0w20 bump it up to 5w20.

Impressions of my 2018 CX-5 GT After 4 yrs of Ownership

Sheet metal is definitely too thin. I have a few dings on my 16 that you can only see from an angle. I always try to park away from people and I don't think they're from other cars, more likely little pebbles thrown up from the road. Luckily no paint scrap so they can be removed by PDR.

    Dealership or Jiffy Lube

I'd skip Jiffy Lube. Too many horror stories. Find a competent shop or use the dealer. I've only taken my two CX-5's to the dealer, it's about the same price for oil, rotations, alignments, tires, etc. They have a nice lounge with free drinks, wide screen TV and they're fairly fast plus you...

That's what happens when the bean counters invade the company. Happens all the time through all industries.

Feelings about the 2026 CX-5 eliminating turbo and physical buttons?

As for physical buttons, I prefer them to all the digital screen electronica that seems to be so popular with cars. But if it's a boost in reliability and durability, it's probably the way of things. Current vehicle is a 2016 CX-5, with the "Commander" control button and 7" touch screen...

Feelings about the 2026 CX-5 eliminating turbo and physical buttons?

They should of kept the turbo in the 2026 until the hybrid arrived. Once you've driven the turbo you don't want to go back.

Center armrest latch/lock removal. Plastic catch has broken off. Help!

You have to be careful closing it or there's no question that the latch will break. Best thing to do is squeeze the latch before you lower it and once it's lowered in position release your grip on it otherwise the mechanisms make contact on the way down and eventually the plastic will break.

TSR not working on 2025 CX-5 Turbo Signature (no nav card)

Are you sure.? I was under the impression that the NAV card was only required until a traffic sign on speed limit sign was detected then the system read the sign and displayed the info on the HUD. I'll have to test it.

Need Help with CX-5 Oil issue PCV

Shouldn't you be running 5w20 syn oil? Loud idle on startup is normal, it's the fast cat warming, usually drops back to normal after 20-30 seconds. ps: don't overfill the oil, half way between min/max is fine.

Shopping Used CX-5s, questions about cracked cylinder years

Didn't realize it was that early, sales guy told me it was new for the 19's. He said it was a big selling point along with the turbo.

Shopping Used CX-5s, questions about cracked cylinder years

I have a 11 yo 2016 CX-5 with 45,000 miles on the ODO. It will definitely last another 10 years. In order to have 10 care free years you have to find one that was taken care of and has low mileage. They're out there but hard to find. Kinda like Bigfoot.
