    Oil Analysis

Your iron is more than double mine on the same exact oil and over a similar interval. Also your UOA is showing more shearing of the PUP 5W-30 than mine and I had another 300 miles on the oil. I do not drive this car easy either and frequently haul around a wife and three kids plus cargo (aka...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

Here's some more data: see attachments. BTW the Weveden test of TriboTEX is basically the "test to pass" when it comes to EP additives. It is extremely grueling and difficult for oil formulations to do well in. I have NEVER been an "oil additive" guy. I recognize that motor oils are a complex...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

Also please note that I do not necessarily agree with the author of the article showing ASTM tests on the filters in that he states K&N is doing dirty business all for the sake of profits. I believe they most likely believe in their products and there are some benefits, it's an old technology...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

No problem. I have no issues accepting the reality that lots of people run K&N filters without any noticeable issues. I have used them myself in the past including a first gen 2007 Focus ST (2.3L Duratec, not the newer turbo 2.0L) that I got with 104k on the clock, put in a K&N Typhoon and ran...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

BTW my plug about K&N filters / CAI's is primarily due to wear and maintenance. So you get 5 maybe 10 HP on a high power engine from a K&N filter + CAI yet you allow 12x the dust contamination into the combustion chamber...so how much power are you going to loose after 50k miles or 100k miles...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

Yah yah yah, I type a lot, but my responses are thorough. You want more power without sacraficing reliablilty? STOP using K&N filters, CAI's etc. on non-performance cars. Focus on maintenance and reducing friction losses through the use of In Situ Hydrogenated DLC coatings and run motor oils...

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

You wanna go fast, buy a high compression NA V8, 5th gen LT1's in the Alpha based SS or C7 Corvettes are awesome, especially if you track the car. Turbo engines tend to get slower and slower as you track them because it's very hard to keep IC temps down, especially in hot weather unless you use...

    2016-2018 Active Grille Shutters

They are used for both faster warm up and for fuel economy purposes. Couple things to note: 1. Warmer air into the intake increases fuel economy, but reduces peak power due to lower air density. To maintain stoic, warmer air (less dense) requires less fuel (Air / fuel ratio). The cooler the...
