Guide 2nd Generation CX-9: Reverse light bulb replacement/upgrade

Reverse bulbs ordered. The value seems clear. Thoughts on rear (and front) turn signals? those bulbs are more than twice the price of the reverse and seem harder to install.

2016~2023 Cargo management in the CX-9

One more note about the hitch. about 1/3 of the time I try to open the hatch, it stops only 1/3 of the way up and beeps. I’m thinking maybe the hitch has something to do with it?Just another thought that says that Mazda didn’t do their homework to make sure the hitch wouldn’t cause problems...

2016~2023 Advice for servicing the CX-9 for the first time?

I called the dealer and they clarified that $99 was with a tire rotation but it's only $69 without. Considering the cost of oil and filter, $69 is feeling ok for a synthetic oil change. Will probably let them do it at that rate. My other dealer that I've been going to for a decade (Mazda 3...

    All weather mats question

Can't seem to buy the husky front liners by themselves for some reason. Maybe I can go OEM liner in the fronts, and weathertechs in the second row.

2016~2023 Cargo management in the CX-9

I got the OEM hitch from the dealer when I bought my 2020 GT, and it does mess with the hands free lift gate. I've managed to find the two spots that fairly reliably trigger the lift gate (which is right around the first parking sensor from the center on either side). I'd say it'll trigger about...

2016~2023 Advice for servicing the CX-9 for the first time?

Just a random thought I had recently. My local dealer says that the first service is $99 (CAD) while at the same time synthetic oil seems to be dropping in price a lot. Costco has 0W-20 Synthetic for ~$40 for 10L, while dealers are still charging a premium for synthetic oil changes. Really...

    All weather mats question

That's great, but I also just read this week that the Husky liners are much better than WT. I'd love a matched set, but feels like it might be husky in the front, WT in the 2nd row. edit: specifically, the Husky's are said to cover the dead pedal completely.

    All weather mats question

Anyone know if the all weather liners for the 2nd row fit with the captains chairs due to placement of the cup holders and USB ports? I’d love to get all weather liners but none look like they fit the captains chairs setup right now.

Guide 2nd Generation CX-9: Dashcam installation

Also had this pic from during the install. The invisicord sticks out a little from the back, but you don't notice it at all when getting in/out and driving. I do wish they didn't use yellow and red though for the wiring. Maybe I should sharpie it to darken it.

Guide 2nd Generation CX-9: Dashcam installation

The invisicord direct with fuse, micro pins and mini usb was about $55 CAD shipped to Vancouver. I'm not sure it needed the fuse, but didn't want to have to wait. Shipping took 3 weeks though. You can actually still see it in the above picture plugged into the back of the mirror, and then...

Guide 2nd Generation CX-9: Dashcam installation

Thanks to all of you on this forum with tips on installing a dash cam with an invisicord and opening up the sensor area to stow cables. Just got this installed and it looks awesome.

What is that chime or dinging noise?

I was thinking the same thing. Seems to come on when I jump in while the car is running and whip it into drive. No visual display. Going to try to keep track of what's happening when this chime appears.

Had it installed without a compustar fob, since I had planned on using my oem fob.

    Let's talk remote starters

I had an email exchange with them and they said this is how it works, which sucks because I'm not hearing the same thing about Viper DS4 or Fortin Evo one. So now if I want this to work well, I gotta either add a compustar remote for another $200 installed, or pay for a fortin or viper to be...

    Let's talk remote starters

I just had a Compustar DC3 + harness installed in my 2020 CX-9 GT and had some findings to report. Would love to hear about other people's starters and how they are working out. I paid $450 + tax (CAD, I'm in Vancouver BC) for the DC3, harness, and installation. This sounds pretty expensive...
