Potential new CX-9 owner, have a question

My 2019 GT came with the Nav system included and the map SD card was installed as part of the dealer prep for delivery. You can also download updates via the Mazda website for free (I think for two or three years) which is a nice feature. My Toyota Venza nav map database could only be updated...

    Outside temp reading slow

My 2019 GT seems slow as well.

list of gripes about 2019 GT

For me the only real gripe I have about my 2019 GT is the painfully slow infotainment system boot up and how it sometimes hangs up loading Sirius/XM stations or the NAV system locks up or works but without voice commands. Usually stopping the car and re-starting solves the problem but it...

    2019 Infotainment system Lockups

I rarely if ever use Android Auto but do use the onboard nav system and SiriusXM radio all the time in my 2019 CX-9 GT. Like many here I find the slow system boot up annoying but that's the norm for this vehicle it seems. Once or twice it locked up in the boot up mode and I had to shutdown and...

    2016~2023 Paint Issues

I've read a number of complaints on the forum about the CX-9 paint being especially fragile and took this into consideration before purchasing my 2019 GT in March. I don't drive a lot and have about 5.5K miles on it so far and the optional Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint is holding up very...

    2019 CX9 Headlight Issue

I have noticed the same thing with my 2019 GT which has the adaptive headlights. I live on a dirt road in Texas ranch country so it's very bumpy. Don't think it's a defect.

    2018 Cx9 turbo oil change

I have to agree on this; with dealers 'trust but verify'. My CX-9 delivery prep failed to top off the washer fluid and the tires were over inflated by 20# each and they couldn't even manage to put on the locking lug nuts. Doesn't fill me with confidence on any future service they are going to...

Anybody have the OEM illuminated door sills on their 2019 CX-9?

Wonder why we can't get these through US dealerships?

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

I posted on this topic elsewhere on this forum. Based on my experience driving fully tracked armored vehicles in severe weather conditions it's my opinion that 4WD/AWD systems in today's cars are highly overrated. Most people regardless of geography don't need it; safer driving tactics and...

Navigation -- how to set clock?

I noticed my clock time was about 4 minutes fast. The nav system was used multiple times so clearly it's internal clock has nothing to do with the time display in the upper right hand corner of the infotainment screen. Was able to easily change the time in the settings menu.

    Question for CX-9 2016+ Owners

I drive my CX-9 by myself 98% of the time, but it's probably the smallest crossover in this segment and drives like it too; so if you feel you need the extra space this is an excellent choice. My reasons for owning this type of vehicle without the demands of having a bunch of kids to chauffeur...

    2018 vs. 2019

Besides overinflated tires, they didn't fill the wiper fluid or install the wheel locking lug nuts either. Haven't brought it in for service yet but I am not very confident in their attention to details.

    2018 vs. 2019

Yup, mine was delivered with 50+ psi in the tires; definitely a big difference when lowered to the recommended 35 psi. Give it a try.

    i-ACTIVE AWD not so Active

I*ve avoided commenting on this thread given the passion all the posters clearly have in favor of having AWD for their vehicle and my belief that most people don*t need it. But, to provide a counterpoint for those unsure if they want to equip their CX-9 with AWD or not here goes- I*m sure...

    2020 Highlander vs 2nd generation CX-9

Coming from a 2013 Toyota Venza Ltd to a 2019 CX-9 GT I evaluated the Highlander Ltd Platinum and the Honda Pilot Touring. Originally I was leaning to the Highlander as my Venza has been the most reliable car I've ever owned in 45 years of driving. The problems with the Platinum trim level...

    2016-2018 CX-9 Dash Kit

I should have paid more heed to the advice given here about the fragility of the piano black trim on the CX-9. Yesterday after filling up I was writing down the mileage with a ballpoint pen on the receipt and made the mistake of putting the paper on the piano black surface to the right of the...

Anybody have the OEM illuminated door sills on their 2019 CX-9?

Thanks for sharing jefabian. I'm really surprised that for $549 that they're battery powered and not hard wired into the car. As I mentioned when I posted this question my dealer parts guy had very little information in his system, no photo, and he said it looked like they couldn't even be...

    Tire pressure for 20's.

Well, on my own after 3 weeks of ownership of my 2019 CX-9 GT (FWD) and not a lot of driving decided to check the tire pressure just for laughs. Was shocked to find that all four Falkens were at 53 to 54 psi instead of the data plate recommended 34 psi and over the sidewall specified max of 51...

Anybody have the OEM illuminated door sills on their 2019 CX-9?

I've searched the forum a couple of times looking for this topic without success. I'm curious about the factory illuminated door sills but the Mazda website doesn't have a photo of them or any details other than the price. My dealer parts guy was unable to find anything using his resources...

    New 2019 CX9 Loving it

It surely is. The 2013 Toyota Venza Limited I traded for my 2019 CX-9 Grand Touring (FWD) only had a warning light as well. My previous GM trade in had individual tire TPMS readout and I have missed that feature ever since. None of the Japanese makers I cross shopped the Mazda with (Toyota...
