Keep in mind that Japanese industrial scandals aren't always as clear cut as they're made out to be. Remember the Carlos Ghosn/Nissan debacle? The symbiotic relationship between the government and large corporations really muddies the water in many of these incidents.

Have you driven a Mazda with CD? While there's an outside chance this that engine might not be quite as smooth in operation as one without CD, it can in no way be characterized as one that "jumps/skips/lurches".
303 Products are generally considered the gold standard for this type of thing. Presumably they have a cleaner (if not, use Armorall cleaner) and then go over it with 303 Protectant.

I don't know how many ways this has been said here, but to reiterate: '23s had CD only; early 24s had both CD and i-stop which resulted in slightly better fuel mileage until Mazda ran out of parts for both. At which point the mileage figures fell 1 mpg back to what they were in '23. This is not...
