Did an oil change yesterday using Kirkland 5W-30 and a Mazda OEM filter. Car is at 72k kms now. Also updated my infotainment firmware to 11048.

In my case, I think it was due to either a manufacturing defect or an underfilled diff from the factory. The oil had not been changed until I did it at 113k(ish) kms, and by then it was too late. No idea if changing the oil when I had planned to at 90k would have made any difference. IMO it...

To add another anecdote, my dad has a 2018 Chevy Equinox, and his automatic emergency braking is the most sensitive I've experienced. Even after changing the settings to intervene as late as possible, it reacts as soon as it would in my CX-9 when the system was set to the "medium" setting.

To be fair, it's been less than a day, and it is possible that they're having this exact issue with their car. With such an unheard of issue in the CX-5, it's much more important that they get as much info as possible before moving forward with a lawsuit.

I would suggest that before you start this process, you first need to determine what's causing the issue, what the fix is, and whether Mazda is covering the repair under warranty. I think you'd need this information in order to determine exactly what your lawsuit applies to, and what resolution...
