2013 CX-5 Sport Audio Upgrade with Nexus 7

Alright, I have been busy with some problems I got after I finished the rough install: The Alpine unit (148BT) had a very annoying and high hiss at volume level of 60% even with no cable pluged in . The Clarion amp it was powering is super clean - I am very proud of that little guy. In addition...

Push Button Start - Engine on to ACC?

2013 Manual while the car is I motion you can press and hold the Start/Stop button for 3-4 seconds and it will kill the engine but stays on ACC. That only works while in motion though.

No, I am curious if you run a new power wire for the actual unit power source or you used lets say the power outlet under the arm rest?

    Radio Harness Fuse/AMP ratings?

Another question I have: I know that the Bose amp should be somewhere behind/under the passenger's site compartment. I open the are up today with hope to see the harness for it (since it has 25 amp fuse it will be sufficient for my need) but I couldn't find it. I guess the final piece of the...

    Radio Harness Fuse/AMP ratings?

I found some more info, but still need extra help: It seems like there are 3 Audio fuses - #38 AUDIO2 - 7.5A, #43 BOSE - 25A, and #44 AUDIO1 - 15A. The Bose fuse doesn't apply to me since I don't have the Bose system. What is weird though is that any of the 2 AUDIO fuses turn off my radio when...

    Radio Harness Fuse/AMP ratings?

I am planning to upgrade the Sport Basic stereo to Tablet as a head unit, 1 Din basic head unit as a pre-amp and a small 4x45/50 amp in the remaining space in the dash (either the Alpine 445a/u or Clarion 1410). If I go with the Alpine route, the 445a harness directly to an Alpine radio and...

First oil change with the new Mazda 0w20 GF-5 with moly - Improved MPG

In general I agree with you. However, that does not answer my question. Heat is a residue product. Engine speed is independent to heat produced one you are in gear. With that said, I want to ask again - why does an engine generally burns more fuel in cold weather if we eliminate idle time...

First oil change with the new Mazda 0w20 GF-5 with moly - Improved MPG

Are you really located in Massachusetts? The Mobil one is significantly thicker specially when cold (I think its the thickest 0w20 on the market) so you should definitely see some improvement with the Mazda GF-5. There is no guarantee that your original oil was the same GF-5. As far as I know...

First oil change with the new Mazda 0w20 GF-5 with moly - Improved MPG

I understand that, but that happened the next day I changed the oil and it is a significant difference (3-4 mpg +). It has been the same for 250 miles. I check my mpg values hourly and there was definitely a change. What I don't know for sure is if it was from the special oil or because the...

First oil change with the new Mazda 0w20 GF-5 with moly - Improved MPG

Hi guys, I just changed the oil my self at 5k miles with the new Mazda Genuine GF-5 0w20 with Moly and I got improved gas millage. I am not sure if it is because it is first oil change (e.g. factory oil thicker?, different?) or its a result of the new oil (I believe that) but I immediately got...

I need new headrest (or mod the OEMs)

I have tried headrest from 2 generation Mazda 3 and they fit loose - e.g. the metal poles are smaller in diameter. Othert than that, the feel a bit better but not perfect.

I need new headrest (or mod the OEMs)

Do you know what year/trim ? I saw same thing in Ford C-max hybrid. The safety was still there, since you could not push the headrest back with force (e.g., you have to move it all the way forward to release to initial position). I will try stopping by a Subaru/Ford dealer and ask them to try...
