Failed pcv valve allowing boost pressure into crankcase would do it. If that were the case it would push oil out of the valve cover breather hose into your intake, through your turbo and intercooler and into the intake manifold..

Definitely looks like a rod has been slung at some point. The engine was likely replaced and the upper OP was reused for some reason (I would not have done that). The replacement engine was likely a non turbo FSDE, in which case the upper OP is different and is not tapped for turbo oil return...

Check your radiator cap also. The bottom part breaks off and it will cause the reservoir to overflow.

At our shop, we use a product available at NAPA called Formed in Place Gasket that is made by a company called Aisin. It is a form of black RTV, but is tough as hell. It works way better than regular RTV.

So, if you guys are running the Synapse and venting to the atmosphere, are you using the anti-stall valve kit? If not, doesn't it stay open under vacuum like a bpv?
