Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

Air suspension, in general, is a problem waiting for the worst possible time to reveal itself. Run flat tires are another thing I avoid.

Fortunately, I'm still in a Volvo forum from the days of owning a V60R Design so I'm doing a lot of reading. I like the design a lot. Why not the Macan? For me, it's the same reason you're avoiding Volvo - reliability.

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

I do know a few people with trouble-free BMWs but they're largely outweighed by those that have problems - and now that I think about it, those with few issues own the newest models (2022 and newer). And you're right - it's all anecdotal/subjective. People do tend to color their experiences...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

They may be delaying any additional builds to get through the vehicles sitting on dealer lots. I've been watching a few at a local dealer - they've all been there for 60+ days - and if you know how vehicle sales work, that's a lot of money tied up in flooring expense unless Mazda is covering it...

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

When the conversation about reliability comes up and people start linking 'initial quality surveys' to prove a point, I have to laugh. A good chunk of the complaints about newer cars revolve around infotainment and a general inability to use them. It's odd to me that people will shell out $50k...

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

Agreed. I tried to hang on to a Volvo too long and it got expensive real fast.

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

The rear seat entry is definitely tighter in the Acura. I had no issue getting into the back seat of the CX90 and it wasn't just because the doors open wider. I didn't try to get into the 3rd row because I won't use it. I've had my Explorer ST for enough time to know that it's superfluous (which...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

I was surprised at how close they were in price...the sales guy at Acura was trying to talk it up vs. the X5 (knew nothing about the CX90) but it started sounding a bit desperate. I can't consider a Tahoe - one of many requirements for the replacement to my Explorer ST is that it has to fit in...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

The point about the MDX being a better package is debatable, IMO. The Acura may put the power down better but it does so at serious cost and efficiency degradation - also not keen on the air suspension. It handles slightly better but the engine is almost as noisy (comparing it to my Explorer...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

The Type S Advance here is over $75k - too close to the X5 to consider it. If anything, the MDX gave me reasons to more closely consider the CX70/90 again. They're close in size, the CX70/90 get better fuel mileage and the back seats are better. The weird mousepad thing for the infotainment...

    CX-70 debut information, pictures, discussion

It's such a small detail that I didn't notice it until I compared the two models side by side from the spec sheets. Given the limited color range - it's not a stand-out detail.

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

The ZDX, like the Prologue, is a Chevy under the skin and badges - very little influence from Honda/Acura. I checked out the MDX S Type a few days ago and the rear seat headroom was too low - I hit my head on the top of the rear seat opening getting into the back seat. Between that and a price...

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

The Mazda definitely has the reliability factor to consider - it's one reason I hesitate on BMW. Mazda is making more progress in the market than I perceived. I wonder how many actually made a purchase after driving the Mazda. The interior feels tight compared to the BMW, in spite of the fact...

    CX-70 debut information, pictures, discussion

For the hell of it, I compared Mazda's specs against the 70 and 90 and I realized that I missed the detail that all of the 70's appear to have black door mirrors - regardless of body color. Looked at the press photos and they all have black mirrors. It's not a deal breaker but just one small...

Now with the CX-70 "revealed", what is everyone buying?

This is exactly the situation that has me looking at a B58 40i. My wife drives (and loves) a 22 Civic - the CVT, road noise, and lack of power make the car aggravating to drive. I'm down to the X5, MDX S Type, CX-70/90...in this order.

Last time I was in Japan, I saw a 6 wagon and it looked absolutely massive in the context of Japanese domestic kei cars.

This is what they're doing - they've specifically stated that the lower power/trims won't be available until late Summer/Fall.

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

They've made these two vehicles as complicated and confusing as possible to purchase for the consumer. 7 and 8 trim levels that are not the same between the two models, similar pricing, different paint options, and the general public isn't going to be able to tell them apart. Things like this...

CX-70 will have same exterior dimensions as CX-90

Not to mention that it's priced the same as the CX90 - you get less but pay more! They created a lot of hype with extended anticipation only to reveal essentially the same vehicle that's been out for a year.
