2016 Mazda CX-5 Air filter replacement interval?

My bad, I forgot the initial state of the OPs vehicle. I’d also do mileage if not in severe conditions.

2016 Mazda CX-5 Air filter replacement interval?

For warranty purposes, whichever one comes first (time or mileage).

2013~2016 CX-5 Transfer Case, Front Differential part questions

Front diff and transfer case are the same thing. Good to hear you changed the rear differential fluid at the back of the car. At the front of the car, you can change the transfer case fluid and the transmission fluid.

2016 Mazda CX-5 Air filter replacement interval?

I wouldnt say detrimental, but there’s a con. Brand new filters do not filter as efficiently as those some use. They filter more after some clogging if that makes sense. No real benefit to changing them more often than necessary.

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

I also have the adhesive sheet ordered from MazdaSwag. That should be here soon. I’m sure I’ll be waiting longer for the aftermarket bracket from AliExpress. That’ll give me time to choose an epoxy for the bracket

Question about 2021 CX-5 GT with premium package

+1 on this strategy. I’ve always felt like I got an ok deal if I can get the price of the car alone less than the “true car” value. I don’t sweat tax tag or title as those are non-negotiable. I also don’t want to pay for anything extra either like dealer add ons. I simply want what came on the...

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

If I’m reading the shop directions right, it’s applicable if you replace the sensor. Even then it looks like all you do is change the sensitivity away from medium and back to medium? I dunno, haven’t dug that far yet Mazda CX-5 Service & Repair Manual - Rain Sensor Removal/Installation - Wipers

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

Safelite is a pain in the ass, lol. It’s been over a year (out of warranty), so I’ll go that route if this bracket doesn’t fit right. Seeing how they cut corners this badly with the windshield last time, I don’t want to have them touch the car again.

Question about 2021 CX-5 GT with premium package

It was the correct move IMO, sorry for the hassle. Low oil light 3 times on different days would be too much for me to gamble on. When you shop for the new car, try to see if you can get a great deal when haggling. Mazdas in my area don’t seem to be moving off the lot and there could be some...

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

Giving AliExpress a try for the pictured bracket. As I feared, can’t find a OEM part as it’s part of the windshield. The appearance is consistent with a 2019 bracket I saw in an eBay picture. Wish me luck!

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

Nailed it. Aftermarket windshield (Fuyao), and there’s no bracket. I thought I saw the sensor through the windshield but it wasn’t attached. Gel isn’t sticky enough to adhere to the glass, and there’s a couple gray sticky tabs that I think were original to the sensor lol. Going to see if I can...

    Guide ATF Drain/Fill

I think it’s safer just applying RTV to the pan. I’d rather get the correct amount applied in a controlled manner instead of accidentally applying too much. I saw a cruddy video yesterday of a toasted engine. The cause? Too much RTV on the inside of the oil pan, a chunk broke off and clogged an...

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

Correct. I think I overrode the dash and media screen brightness to compensate. All of the screens are super bright at night and have to be dimmed as a consequence lol. I’m thinking the dim backup display could due to its own independent setting, likely messed up by ghost touch. I think the...

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

For sure not the DRLs. The green headlight icon is displayed on the dash. The rear lights being on was what clued me in. This is my understanding as well. I found a pic in the owners manual to confirm, it says not to obscure the upper windshield or it will mess with the auto sensing feature...

Auto Headlights always on, light/rain sensor failure? 2018 CX-5

Hello all, I noticed my mother-in-law’s ‘18 CX-5 Grand Touring has the headlights on all of the time when “Auto” is selected (night or day). Just shy of 70k miles on it, and the windshield was replaced by Safelite a little over a year ago. No idea when the issue started, my mother in law just...

CX-5 Jack points, Pinchweld Heights, Bottlejacks and Pucks

I use this style of pinch weld adapter on 4 jack stands. I lift the car using the designated front and rear jack points from the owners manual, and place the jack stands at the pinch weld locations. It’s a little bit of a hassle but it works. I don’t lift or lower the car all in one go: I...
