always having to retighten endlink nuts

You know what's better than loctite? Nordlock. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgwmuZuJ02I http://www.nord-lock.com/ And they are easier to remove when you want to take them off. The problem with Loctite is that the surfaces have to be really clean and unlubed for the stuff to work. And...

ms3 'skittish' under hard braking - thoughts?

cars never have control. it might mean you are losing control ;) It's only driver error if you aren't expecting it and you let it stuff you. But if you anticipate it, you can make it work for you. It's a simple fact of the LSD and weight transfer helping to lift that ass and toss it around...

ms3 'skittish' under hard braking - thoughts?

The #1 cause for instability under braking is imperfect alignment. But I know what you mean with the MS3... it tends to oversteer heavily under trail braking. Learn to harness that and use it to your advantage. Brake deeper into the corner and then use the straighter exit to lay down the...

    MS3 HID bulb switch

You can't look only at what the average current draw is. You have to account for the inrush current that happens when you turn them on. For an industry standard HID capsule, the inrush current is about 12 amps. The wiring has to be able to support that for a short amount of time while the...

side-by-side comparo of GT HID's vs' Sport HID's

so you're just moving the lens out of the focal point of the bowl... causing that nice fringing... neat mod. What I'm actually looking for though is a way to change the aim of the high beams relative to the low beams. I feel the highs are too high with the lowbeams correctly aimed, evidenced...

    ride quality

Get bilstein shocks/struts and also a 17" wheel/tire package and the ride will be superb. The good thing is it's not actually softer. It's just got valving that is more suited to a comfortable ride.

side-by-side comparo of GT HID's vs' Sport HID's

yeah man i hear you... i'm a disciple of Daniel Stern Lighting myself. It's amazing how many people do lighting poorly. More info on this washer mod? I am assuming it would make for a hotter foreground, when the hotspot/cutoff is reaimed, right?

side-by-side comparo of GT HID's vs' Sport HID's

i was hoping he knew something i didn't... if he's talking about the leveler, that thing doesn't adjust the cutoff. it adjusts the entire aim. :unamused:

MAJOR electrical problem after trying to install HID's

not a 55W kit... the initial amp draw on that is going to be WAY higher than the factory wiring is made to handle. And yes, it sounds like he fried the controller.

    mazda driving lights

driving lights are not the same as fog lights. Driving lights are essentially auxilliary high beams and are NOT to be used with oncoming traffic. Fog lights are for lighting up the road close to you in bad visibility and are also not to be used in good weather because they hurt your distance...

    Auto-Off Headlights US iTouring Value

the 08.5 Mazdaspeed3 does not have auto-off headlights. I mean, they have the "Auto" setting which turns them on when dark and presumably off when you kill the car, but in my past three cars, the lights turned themselves off no matter what when you turn the key to OFF.

    Aiming high beams?

yeah the entire assembly inside the housing moves together IIRC. same as when you adjust the headlight level via the dial in the cabin. that dial just actuates a server which turns the adjuster screw. pull up to a wall and see the highbeam move with the lowbeam when you adjust it. If I'm...

    Aiming high beams?

the high and low beams are adjusted together as a pair. there is not adjustment for independent aim, which is a shame, because i feel the highbeams are too high when the lows are correctly aimed... there's a gap between the two patterns. I have not taken any deeper look into disassembling the...

Who thinks the MS3 needs a diet?

the hood would be a good choice. Coming from subarus with aluminum hoods, the steel hoods on these cars are INCREDIBLY heavy to me. Also, don't forget the battery. A small racing battery could shave as much as 20 lbs from the upper engine area. I don't really care about losing weight to make...
