I bought my P5's on Dec 28 2000, they are 2001 models. MINE is still brand new, and I have only 10500 miles onit, its never been rained on, and has never been washed. I keep it in the garage as well. thank goodness I have a beater truck to drive everyday. my wifes P5 has nearly 80,000 miles on it.

Not sure about using the 45 series tire....you may end up rubbing on the back side.....other than that the wheel size/offset will work like a charm.
