If I had a big yard I could park cars in I would seriously consider looking for a wrecked low mileage one for parts but even the ones on Copart seem to be rusty and high mileage.

That's where the conflict comes in lol. I only have about $600 maybe $700 total into the Mazda. So I'm still able to make a profit right now. I have no idea what will happen and it isn't happing tomorrow. I am gonna try some Lucas stop slip because the transmission is in question as well...

That's just my point though, I don't have near $1000 to put into it right now. When the time comes? Maybe. But not right now.

I was considering pulling the engine and doing a cheapo rebuild. New rings, head gasket, oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, valve stems, maybe timing belt and water pump, and maybe motor mounts. Without timing stuff and motor mounts, it comes out to $180 on RockAuto plus my time.

I don't want to sell it so I'm fighting myself here. Nothing is certain. It will depend greatly on if I get it inspected and plated before a new car finds its way to my driveway.

I think I'm gonna get the set of bolts next time I make an order. I had the same thought about the non-foulers but others seem to have had luck so I may still give them a try at some point.

The more I think about the camber bolts I think that's a good next step, I'm not sure which ones would be best for getting back to negative camber or if they're all the same. Also not sure how many degrees I need. I just started it up to see how long it'd smoke and it smoked for about 45ish...

    Question on vics / vtcs

I bought two of them, one for VICS and one for VTCS, and both seem to work fine. I haven't gotten the codes back since installing them.

Today I changed the oil out and put a quart of Lucas in, they say up to 60% for badly worn engines so I'm thinking I should've gotten more than 1 quart but oh well. So we'll see if that will work any wonders on the cylinder walls.

    NewP5 Owner. Saying Hello!

I personally like Monroe ceramic pads. I used Wagner rotors on the brake job I did yesterday and that's what I'm using on my next one next weekend. The Mazda got cheapo ACDelco rotors and they've been fine for the couple hundred miles I've put on them.

When I first started ordering from them 3 or 4 years ago I remember them sending me a 10% off once or twice but that's it.

    Picking up another P5

Getting one with only 56k miles you can really test the reliability. Change the oil early, change the transmission fluid regularly, and enjoy it. Check for rust in the wheel wells, condition of the unibody, condition of the coolant, and smell for gas in the oil. You can also look up the service...

Yeah, there are so many causes it makes it hard to narrow down. The first time I saw it pending was when I had the confirmed misfire code so I was opening that was the cause, but I put new plugs in (which are probably fouled out again) and it's still there.

It's certainly worth trying. I've got to go half-fill it up with gas next time I drive it and I"ve got seafoam to put in then as well. It's worth mentioning this is a new code, as far as I know, it wasn't there when I sold it or when I bought it back.

The only thing stopping me from getting it registered right now is the P0172 system too rich bank 1 code *Pending code

Thanks, I figured out why that side doesn't have a mark just after I posted that. Awhile ago, before I sold it, I was working on something and noticed some rust around the strut so I cleaned it up and painted it, so the mark got painted over I'm sure. It didn't fix either issue, camber is still...
