    Edumacate on tire sizes

What you say is true but it's no different than running a 205/60/16 snow tire. Overall diameter increase is about 2%.

    Edumacate on tire sizes

235 would definitely work on an 8 inch rim, but being +50mm offset I'm not sure about clearance with shocks and struts. If I wanted to go with such a wide rim, I'd look for less offset, like +40 or +35mm.

    Edumacate on tire sizes

I run 225/45/17 on a 7.5in wide rim with +45mm offset. This tire is a great fit. I think a 215 will be too narrow for an 8in wide rim unless you like the stretched look. It'll also cut down on sidewall height, hurting your ride too. I'd go 225 if I were you.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

That equates to about 36mm of wheel and tire that's inboard of your stock rim, toward your shocks and struts. I bet it'll be a tight fit without wheel spacers.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I think it depends on the offset of your 17x8 inch rims. Keep in mind the stock rims are 17x6.5 with +52mm offset.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I run 225/45/17 on my 2012. That is the same overall Diameter as the 205/50/17. It rides pretty well on stock suspension. The biggest detractor is the fact that my 17x7.5 inch rims with fatter tires weigh about 6 lbs. more than stock.

    Passenger Motor Mount Replacement

Anyone replace their own driver's side transmission mount? How much of a pain is it? From what I've seen you have to remove the battery just to access it. What replacement transmission mount did you use?

Mechanic costs for breaks, and lower control arm

Keep in mind that often a shop will charge more for labor of they're not also supplying the parts, like 50% more.

    Mazda5 Roof Weight bearing Capacity

I think roof rack systems are generally rated at 200-250lbs capacity.

MS6 wheels fit on my 2010 5 GT?

I'm sure you'll notice a detriment to ride quality but see a benefit to the handling. 2010 Mz5 runs a 17x6.5 inch rim with 205/50/17 tire. A 19x7 inch rim will weigh considerably more than the OEM rim and you'll likely be running a wider, lower profile tire with a stiffer sidewall that also...

    Engine Transplant Pipe Dream

I was actually looking at the Transit Connect wagon as a viable next car in the next year or two when my wife may need to look at replacing her Mz5. Problem is that you can get the Ecoboost in the cargo van version or the short wheelbase wagon, but not in the long wheelbase wagon. Incredibly...

    Engine Transplant Pipe Dream

My bet is that the electronics would be the hardest part, not engine mounting. I say this because the Fusion, Escape, and Transit Connect all can accommodate either the 2.5L or the 1.6T. Looking under the hood on the Transit Connect, the passenger side engine mount looks identical. There's...

    Engine Transplant Pipe Dream

My wife owns a fleet of vans for her business. I've been spending some time recently driving her new 2014 Ford Transit Connect with the 1.6L Ecoboost turbo engine. This would be the perfect engine for the Mz5, making 178hp and 185lb/ft of torque. It's too bad that something like this isn't...

Thinking of getting a Mazda5...Babies on the way!

If you think the Mz5 is right for you I wouldn't wait too long since they're not being sold in the USA after 2015 model year. You might find some really good deals on a new 2014 model for the next couple months.

MS6 wheels fit on my 2010 5 GT?

You could always find some 5mm spacers if it is a problem. Or you could go with aftermarket rims with less positive offset to give your 5 a wider, and in my opinion, a more attractive stance.

Mazda OEM Remote Start - Worth the Price?

All this assumes your car is parked outside. I'd like a nice warm car in the winter but ours are parked in a non heated garage. They're still awfully cold but there's no snow or ice to scrape away.

    Input on replacement struts needed

These are probably originally spec for Volvo V50 wagon.

Is there anyone with a newer (2010+?) 2.5 liter Mazda5 and a cold air intake??

Any update on those intake pics? Thanks.

    Input on replacement struts needed

KYB gas a just are the most recent iteration of the rear shocks for the Mz5 and are a small upgrade over OEM or the GR2. I put them on the rear of our 2008 and the ride is great. KYB only has GR2 front struts so these are a good option for OEM replacement too. I have the GR2 struts as well...

Is there anyone with a newer (2010+?) 2.5 liter Mazda5 and a cold air intake??

I second that request for pics. What kind of brackets did you use for mounting and did you use any kind of screen at the mouth of the flexi-duct?
