    Mazda5 Lifespan

We're at 223,000km on our 2013 — bought it used with 56,000km back in 2015. Van has been paid off, so I'm planning to drive the thing into the ground! No major issues to report of. Most of my money has gone into maintaining brakes and suspension. The van is currently throwing a couple of evap...

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Smart idea. If you can, bring a saw or sledgehammer with you to break them down — probably could fit 10 pallets worth of wood in there!

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

Loaded the Mazda5 up with pallets. In case you were wondering, the cargo area with both rows of seats folded down will fit 5 standard 48"x40" pallets perfectly, plus one up on the roof. With lumber prices being so high right now, I have to get creative and resourceful if I'm going to build...

    Mazda5 wheel swap question

Yes. Mazda 3, 5, and 6 wheels/tires are all interchangeable without issue as long as you're looking at 16"+. 15" wheels do not fit Mazda5 due to brake clearance.

    215/65r16 Tires on Mazda5?

 Just wanted to be sure I wasn't going crazy. I tried putting my 15" winters on when we bought our 5. Was so disappointed they didn't fit. ...but at the same time, I enjoy shopping around for new tires. So the disappointment didn't last.

    215/65r16 Tires on Mazda5?

Wondering if 1st gen Mazda5's shared similar brake sizes with the 3s.

    215/65r16 Tires on Mazda5?

No, rear shocks are still Mazda5 parts. I installed KYB Gas-a-Just shocks about 2 years ago — huge improvement over stock, but could still use an upgrade. Front struts are way overdue for replacement, so I'll be looking into a front/rear set at some point and just get everything done at once...

    215/65r16 Tires on Mazda5?

Yeah, I used Tema4x4 strut spacers up front (I believe they're 30mm). In the rear, I swapped the stock springs out with CX7 springs — the 5 and CX7 share the same rear suspension components, but CX7 springs are taller.

    215/65r16 Tires on Mazda5?

Can confirm 215/65r16 will fit on the Mazda5 — tires will just clear the spring perches in the front. Our 5 has a slight lift all around. I get minor rubbing at full lock in the front and I only get a bit of rubbing in the rear over bumps if the van is loaded — stiffer springs should solve that...

    Outside door handles keep breaking

Yeah, I'm up in Canada and the 5 has seen lots of salt and water and dirt. I'm waiting til spring to give them a good cleaning to see if it helps. If needed, I'll brave disassembling everything and hope it all goes back together easily. Good thing for workshop manuals.

    Outside door handles keep breaking

I've noticed both rear door handles on our 2013 5 feel quite loose and I'm super cautious when opening the doors in the cold. But yeah, I feel like they're ready to break off anytime. Doesn't help that both rear doors are difficult to open as the tracks/rollers could use a good cleaning.
