Why? Because that motor has been around since the original CX-5 was released. This is the exact same motor/transmission as the 2017 model so we are now looking at an "all new" 2026 car with a 2017 drivetrain. I can't see this as a good thing no matter how one spins it.

As said above, you can buy the standard filters on Amazon for about $5-6 each. Why not just get a new filter every year rather than going through the washing/drying of the K&N? If you do a filter every 12k/12mths that would be 6yrs of filters to buy the K&N.
