    Broke my CX-5 side mirror

Sorry to hear brother. I did something similar years ago and let me tell you it was a royal PITA to replace the part myself. The inner door panel came off, most of the plastic clips broke and then I had to get new ones and even then had a hell of a time getting the door panel to go back on...

    130k miles on a 2014 CX-5 - First Check Engine Light - P0172

I am not a Costco member. Just me and the wife and not a lot of storage for bulk buying. Yeah I used to always put in Shell but sometimes it's seriously like $.50 - $1 more per gallon these days around here. Maybe it's worth it, I don't know. Yep I have mostly gone to city driving the past 3-4...

    130k miles on a 2014 CX-5 - First Check Engine Light - P0172

Tried that Berryman B12 Chemtool in a new tank of gas and can say it's been over a week now and check engine light has stayed off. Guess the injectors needed a little cleaning. I've been kinda cheaping out on gas lately (not Top Tier gas stations), so guess I need to run some stuff through...

Dad took CX-5 at 56k miles in for routine maintenance and these were the recommended repairs

Man even that first line...in what world is a basic synthetic oil change a $143 service? OK, they tack on a tire rotation....question still stands, and depending on where you bought your tires, you can probably get that done for free. As for the rest: Brakes and fluid should only be needed if...

    2013~2016 CX-5 HVAC stopped blowing

Very interesting. Well I may take you up on that then and look into picking one of those up and seeing if that resolves my issue. It's too bad. The Napa blower was actually built really solid otherwise. Metal instead of plastic, etc.

    130k miles on a 2014 CX-5 - First Check Engine Light - P0172

Well something interesting happened. For the hell of it, I dumped a bottle of Techron into the gas tank when I filled up exactly one week ago. On Sunday, the CEL turned off and stayed off all week until it came back on again yesterday. Again, everything feels like its running fine, so I really...

    2013~2016 CX-5 HVAC stopped blowing

Just wanted to update. I bought a blower motor at NAPA that said it was Made in Canada. I ended up doing the switch last Saturday and the new motor definitely works, but it has this god awful what I can only describe as "coil whine" on the lowest settings. So I may take it back and just pony up...

Got my 75,000 mile service done (2016.5 CX-5)

Induction service. I'd guess all they did was dump a bottle of BG 44k in the gas tank.

Got my 75,000 mile service done (2016.5 CX-5)

Yep, I did my own spark plugs for the first time, there were a couple gotchas, but once you get it down, it's easy. Biggest problem I had was when I was trying to pull up on the unscrewed plugs and the extension would come out of the spark socket instead. So I duct tape them together and problem...

Got my 75,000 mile service done (2016.5 CX-5)

Yeah "Induction Service". Local dealership offers this too. I asked them about it and I guess it's really just them putting some BG additives in the gas. Like come on I can put a bottle of Techron in myself. Such a scam.

    2017~2025 CX-5 Parts Inflation

Agreed. When I did my own brakes for the first time last year, I was quite shocked how shoddy the previous pad install from a brake shop was which lead to very uneven wear.

    2017~2025 CX-5 Parts Inflation

Dealerships just use a generic bulk synthetic. It's fine, it just won't be the Mazda Moly oil unless you specify for it.

Thank you both. I'll see if that's something I can figure out with the scanner I got. It was just a cheap $20 one off of Amazon, so if not, I'll stop by O'Reilly.

$380 for rear pads? Do they provide lube too? That's absurd pricing.

What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Got some Continental Viking Contact 7 tires put on today. EDIT: We'll see how they do in the snow compared to my old Blizzak WS90's. I will say right off the bat that on dry pavement they are dead silent. Enough that it was extremely apparent the difference driving away from Discount Tire. My...

    130k miles on a 2014 CX-5 - First Check Engine Light - P0172

So I got my first CEL in over 10 years and 130k miles of ownership. Hooked up the OBDII reader and got the P0172 - System Too Rich Bank 1 code. I recently replaced engine air filter and double checked that its secure/installed correctly. Next I am thinking maybe the MAF sensor needs to be...

    2013~2016 CX-5 HVAC stopped blowing

Today it stopped working again after working no problem since Sept 27. I guess I need to stop sitting on my hands and just deal with it and replace that part.
