After 10 yrs first ever replacement: Need help

I replaced both front sway bar end links last year along with the lower control arms. The sway bar links were super easy with a 5mm hex key and a ratcheting wrench. The lower control arms on the other hand I vow to never do myself ever again.

How do you pick winter tires?

Oh maybe. Will have to see when that time comes. Edit: Oh they are looking great.

How do you pick winter tires?

I've had Blizzak WS-80, WS-90, and currently have Continental VikingContact 7. Overall the Blizzak WS-80 had the best performance, but the good part of the tread was toast after 2 winters. Here in Colorado we get periods of dry weather between storms and it just caused it to wear super fast. The...

Feelings about the 2026 CX-5 eliminating turbo and physical buttons?

Lack of physical buttons for a touchscreen is one of the dumbest trends in car manufacturing these days. I dont even want a new car. Just going to keep my 2014 going. Only got 147k on it.

    82,000 Miles, first brake job

All of them? My rears needed replacing at 54k-ish, but my fronts went to 76k. Then I did all 4 again a couple years ago at 115k-ish because the rotors needed replacing, not really because of pad life.

A Look Inside the Body of an Off-Duty Oil Filter

I use a Wix 57002 if I cannot find a reasonable priced Mazda (non value line) filter. To my knowledge, the Wix 57002 is the only aftermarket that matches the OE spec filter for the NA engine. It's the only aftermarket filter I use if I can't easily acquire a reasonable priced Mazda filter (non...

    Skyactiv Transmission Fluid Analysis Thread

Not specifically, but my understanding is that the pan is secured with RTV, so will need to use non-marring scraper to remove it from the pan and transmission surface. And then of course, just need to take care removing the pan itself once the bolts are off / loose so as to not damage the mating...

Seeking advice for keeping aging CX-5

I don't think anyone is claiming that the tranny is going to blow up at 100k. I just see fluid as a wear item and since Mazda won't define in explicit terms what "lifetime" means in either time or mileage, I think its perfectly reasonable to come up with an interval one is comfortable with for...

    2013~2016 CX-5 Loose Driver's Side Mirror

So I have a narrow garage so it's entirely my fault really for smacking the mirrors against the side of the garage door when backing out many times over the years. I've noticed this mirror start wobbling at speed and it seems like whatever glue or other adhesive is holding the mirror/glass to...

    Skyactiv Transmission Fluid Analysis Thread

Thanks for posting. I am going to change the filter / drop pan in my 150k fluid change. I haven't been doing any analysis oil or otherwise for many years now, but am probably going to send one off for this transmission fluid drain fill + filter replacement / pan drop.

Official 2026 Mazda CX-5 Pics and Details Released

Just goes to show any corporation doesn't really care, it's just what sounds good in the marketing for the moment. For whatever reason guess they think people want these nonsense touchscreens.

New 2025 CX-5 with highway vibration problem; tires?

I have them too. Very happy with them. The stock factory Yokohama Geolandar G91A in 225/65R17 were total crap. One of mine started developing bubbles in the sidewall a little after 18k so they all got replaced.

Where did you end up ordering the new bolts from?

    New Transmission Costs

Yeah if I do end up trying this myself, I am inclined to try the gasket myself and since I plan to own this car long-term still, make it easy for any future pan drops.

    Getting close for new tires

I like them a lot for those same reasons. The handling is excellent and they are a quiet tire. Can't speak much on wet traction as I haven't driven them through any heavy rain.

    New Transmission Costs

Also a big part of why manufacturers keep pushing out oil change intervals. Can some cars do that? Yes. But I'd say a lot burn up oil between intervals and extending out the oil changes is going to be trouble for the vast majority who aren't regularly checking their oil levels but are going 10k...

2013~2016 AWD CX-5 Replacing Rear Shocks - Questions

I don't know for sure, but that's how I'd interpret it. My car is from 01/2013 on the door sticker, so just a month after yours. I'd assume I'd want the part that is To 5/13/2013. I'd read "from" 5/13/2013 as any car made on that date or later.
