I could be wrong, but those pictures live in my memory from 25 years ago. If you can find any of the bespoke products in those pictures, you're doing pretty good. I believe those black splitter pieces are all custom for that racing series.

I fit grinds only when changing INTO 2nd gear, then yes it is the syncro. If it grinds while in 2nd gear, then the gear is toast. Maybe try a gear oil change and see if anything improves?

Did you perform this step in the instructions? I know with BMW/Mini products, if this step is missed, all sorts of error codes flash up. Seeing as how your codes are related to those sensors, seems like a logical place to start troubleshooting.

It is typical for the engine bay to look like that. Manufacturers skimp on the final clear top coat in the engine bay because, well, engine bay. I've never seen a door jam painted like that. If Mazda is really skimping on the top paint color coat in the door jams, then yuck.

The car should run just fine with a header to replace the primary cat. If you can, have the secondary O2 sensor relocated behind the second cat to keep the ECU happy.

If all you did was slap the turbo on the car, and haven't addressed fueling or tuning...
