Unfortunately you might be limited with your options...if you want further range then either the app based starter (but you have to pay a yearly subscription) or separate key fob would be the ones to satisfy your needs or if you didn't want an extra fob then the Fortin might be only option...

With almost 2 yrs of ownership it (blank nav screen) has only happened maybe twice or three times...didn't bother bringing it to dealership since it rarely happens. I could get the firmware updated but am too lazy to do it plus the existing firmware so far has held up for almost 2yrs!

No only turning it clockwise or counter...there is an auto mode though that dims automatically at night and brightens during the day although you can manually adjust the brightness to your preference
