Mazda reported the fuel leak recall to the NHTSA. The NHTSA did not discover it. It was discovered in Mazda's own testing.

They are not that much cheaper. Plus, with the keyless fobs, many aftermarket systems require the use of one to work, leaving you with just one key to use for the car. Its very pricey to replace that key. It's just not worth it.

From 2010-2015, there was typically a $4,000 rebate and about $2,000 mark up from invoice to MSRP. There's your $6,000 savings. Mazda's trying to get away from that. Time will tell if the 2016+ model bucks the trend. Now is not the time to expect a $5,000 discount.

An assumption that the 2017 CX-5 will debut at the LA Auto Show is a pretty good one considering Mazdas history of reveals at that show. However, the info in that article is complete and utter speculation by someone with zero inside information. I don't believe any of it.
